The missed call tally was fun. As a fan it's something you sort of keep track of in your own mind, but cool to have it out in the open for the audience.

He's a FA after next year. We almost certainly aren't resigning him. Eventually you need to move players that aren't in your long term plans. The return isn't as important as getting the guys that ARE in your long term plans on the MLB team and getting at bats. Frazier is the bigger culprit, but we've beaten that horse to death.

We should have traded Santander in the offseason, which is what I was clamoring for. He's not in the future plans and is just taking up a spot at this point. I know this is more of a infield problem, but the roster crunch really effects both. If we didn't have Santander clogging up a spot with no defensive value, you can get extra at bats for the infielders in the corner outfield and DH (such as Frazier).

Definitely think Mateo is the guy we should sell high on if we get a deal with some legit pitching. His floor as a hitter is such (low) that I'm taking a deal if it's presented. Between Gunnar/Holiday/Westburg/Ortiz we have SS covered long term and short (no pun intended).

I actually agree here, and I'm someone who plays around with many bets every day. Not a lot of money though (usually 4 or 5 $10-$20 bets a day). My fear is all the young lives likely to be ruined, who have absolutely no idea how easy it is to become addicted. Now that it's on your phone, it's only worse. I was at the forefront of the poker boom in the mid 2000's, while in college. Same sort of thing. I didn't blow a ton of money but definitely sunk a lot of time in it.

I'm concerned he's not putting guys away at 2 strikes. The top pitching prospect in the game should be blowing by guys when you get to 2 strikes. Granted, a lot of that has been hanging breaking balls or down the middle fastballs.

When you start making excuses about paying a player that's not a free agent for 6 years, that's concerning.

It's Santander really, because he's a butcher in the field and you lose the flexibility to put Stowers at DH. If we legitimately feel comfortable rolling with Stowers (or Cowser or whoever) we should probably trade Santander at the deadline since he only has one year left anyway. You know he aint getting resigned.

What about the game where Jack Cust fell running to home plate when there was no defender covering

It's tough for me to evaluate the pitching because the defense has been so bad. That said, last year a 6 run lead at any point in the game was a slam dunk win. It feels like this year we are going to have hit to have much of a chance.
