O's trade Ronnie Welty to Phillies for Julio Rodriguez

I hear you - but for reference he was a solid 10-15 MPH behind everyone else.

I'm surprised the team would let him pitch with his velocity down that much. Sounds like he's got something wrong with him if he truly was throwing that slowly.

You do realize that Welty was utterly terrible for the Phillies in AA this season and they released him back in May, right?

Julio Rodriguez is at least still with the organization. Time will tell if he turns into anything.

Beat me to it. Hard to feel like we ripped somebody off when the other team has already cut the player we traded them.

I still really like this trade. It'll be interesting to see if anything becomes of Rodriguez if he can get healthy. He's put up some interesting numbers in his career. Only 22, time is still on his side. Definitely a situation we can feel positive about, even if Rodriguez never amounts to anything.
