Appreciating Aberdeen for a moment

They are 26-8 now and are 2nd in the Sally League in OPS, 3rd in SLG, 2nd in OBP.

The Ironbirds have 10 qualifying hitters and all are in the top half of Sally League qualifiers in OPS with Donta' Williams the lowest at .766 through game of 5/19.  That is despite the fact 5 of these players are hitting .242 or lower.  

On the mound, the team has an absurd 1.16 WHIP and 3.51 K/BB ratio along with an opp AVG of .219.  Yet somehow, they still have a 3.60 team ERA.

If I am to believe Aberdeen is an extreme pitcher's park, then we should be even more impressed by the offensive display.

All of that draft capital being spent on hitters paying off?

Hopefully some of these guys get called up to Bowie soon.   Cowser, Norby, Rhodes, Williams, Mayo..........all of them should get promoted at some point this year right?  Some maybe sooner than others.

The Top 5 pitchers all continue to run high in K-BB% vs. the league.   66 pitchers at 20 innings today...Ironbirds 6-8-15-17-20.   Curious to see if any individual has another gear.    Splitting up the components, Ignacio Feliz's K% and Justin Armbruester's BB% near league best levels.    They are mostly yielding a not as great number of HR, which fits with my prior that Orioles player development wants strike zone challenged aggressively.   AA sluggers await.
