Bryce Harper extension

On the eve of Harper’s free agency, he is looking for an extension with the Phillies. Oh wait, his contract doesn’t end until 2031.

He’s just got to be upset watching the Ohtani sweepstakes, the upcoming Soto FA, and Machado guaranteed more than $100M more than him.

I would not be talking extension yet if I were the Phillies.   Harper’s been very good for them and he plays a fiery brand of baseball.  But 8 years is an eternity and Harper has been quite injury prone.
