  1. Nothing worse than getting robbed by a Middle Eastern fast food item.
  2. Fine replace the words "get shallacking after shallacking" with lose.
  3. Under Elias, he was given one legitmate starting pticher in John Means, and two top pitching prospects in Grayson Rodriguez and DL Hall. Means is having TJ surgery and Hall hasn't pitched in a minor league game since May of last year. So despite all the pampering and lack of pitch counts and rehabbing guys, they don't exactly have a stellar record no do they? At the end of the day, Bradish and Rodriguez are in the minors because of controllability concerns and Adley Rutschman has the slowest rehab known to man for a tricep strain for the same reason. Whether this all works out or not will be known by 2023 or 2024. It's clear to me that Elias has no intention of winning at the major league level for the 4th straight season in his rebuild.
  4. Eh who cares? I didn't see the game but clearly Rodriguez did not have his good stuff and as usual, they won't let him throw more than 80 pitches since it appears they have no intention of bringing him up until June or July mst likely. Basically they'll leave him in purgatory until they can get another year of eligibility from him. Meanwhile we get shallacking after shallacking game after game.
  5. In other good news it took Grayson 77 pitches to get through 4 innings agianst a AAA team while allowing three earned runs.
  6. Severino vs Lyles shows how far the Orioles have to go before they are a legtimate contender. Oh, and the Yankees are better at every single position on the field. Other than that, we're close.
  7. Screw it, leave him out there to eat the rest of this 6th.
  8. What an awful minor league crap changeup. Good Lord Lyles, you make 7 million a year and you can;t make a better 3-2 pitch than a cookie lazy middle of the plate changeup.
  9. Wow, has Garceau been demoted to "sideline reporter?" At his age and experience, that's a little surprising he would take that role.
  10. Think we're getting no-hit tonight. It has that feel.
  11. BTW, how dead are the balls? Stanton hit the ball 107.5 MPH at a 32 degree launch angle and it went only 388 ft for a flyout. The xBA on that was .950. Tha ball never even made the warning track.
  12. Not surprised at all that Stweart cleared waivers. I'm mildly surprised the Orioles didn't just release but I guess they culd decide he's than Stowers or Neustrom who are the next two outfielders to be recalled.
  13. Let me fix that for you, "He truly espouses the player control window allotted him by a flawed CBA." Let's be very clear, the only reason Grayson is not in the big leagues right now and probably won't be until June or July is to make sure he can't win the rookie of the year and lose a year of eligibility. Basically Elias is trading his year 22nd year (2022) for his 28th year (2028) when he hopes the Orioles will be in contention. I'm beginning to think Adley's slow recovery and rehab is for similar purposes. It probably makes sense from an organizational perspective, especially one that clearly does not think it can sign it's core players to long term extensions. No matter what they say they are doing, they are manipulating these players to try and have them ready to compete next year and beyond.
  14. Heck, Cal/Billy are apparently too cheap to hire a college kid as an intern and let him/her announce the games. He know they aren't springing for a center field camera anytime soon. Aberdeen is pretty much the embarrassment of the Orioles affiliates. I wonder if they are going to open up more than just two food areas this year and maybe serve more than chicken tenders and awful cheesburger? I took some people with me last year for my sons birthday up there who had never been to a game there. I was embarrassed how few food options there were or people working. Apparently they can't get anyone to work up there. Maybe it was a COVID thing, but the fact that they are doing another year of broadcasterless broadcasts from a high press box view again show you how much ownership cares about the fans or their product. Meanwhile, I have to hope the away broadcasts are decent.
  15. 1. Rangel has been a very big mystery because he's barely pitched for Delmarva and has been very wild. The fact the team has chose Chace and De Los Santos to start over him (he does have one quick start) in interesting, especially since Rangel out performed them both last year in the FCL. Rangel can easily get back on the list by performing well, but so far he's been erratic. I haven't got any good angles on him yet either so I'm waiting to see the stuff from the centerfield camera angle as well as get some radar readings. Remember, these are power rankings. 2. I'll fix Williams. That may have gotten screwed up when I moving guys around. Honestly, I'm not sure why he would have moved down two. I honestly think he was 22 and stayed the same. 3. I honestly thought they released Harris when he did not make a team this year out of spring training, especially after the poor numbers he put up last year in his professional debut. Clearly at 25 years old he's old for the league but from professional standpoint he's pretty inexperienced. We all saw that great throw he made last week and he's obviously off to a hit start with the bat. We'll need to see where he is in about a month of so before he gets on the power rankings.
  16. The other thing is we really didn't know what we could expect when he faced minor league pitching so his initial ranking was kind of a wag. The power is very intriguing because of the lack of power from most guys in Aberdeen. The Carolina League seems to be the blackhole of good MiLB broadcasts so it's been tough to evaluate him overall, but the offensive number speak for themselves.
  17. Easy, let's not bring other posts into this one and stay on subject. Thanks.
  18. Yeah, I don't think he gets a promotion to Bowie before Westburg or less likely due to age Henderson gets promoted to AAA. Then again if Ortiz keeps struggling with the bat, he could play himself out of a priority play but I don't see that happening for at least half a season.
  19. That's exactly how they should do it. Might as well go full 1970s era and before minor league baseball. Guess we know Heart is just is going to be doing penny pinching ways while broadcasting the games. Figures the Orioles can't even change their flagships without downgrading.
  20. Yep. I doubt very much it's because they are worried about the awful quality of the broadcasts with delays, some glitches and the announcers unable to have a real feel for the game.
  21. His breakdown per pitch is not available in the minor leagues but it was something I noticed when he was in the minor leagues and something I look for when scouting them. Obviously it's more ancillary then having a stacast breakdown since I don't watch every PA for every batter. Rylan Bannon has the same issue from what I've seen. One of things that's important when scoyting players in the minor leagues is trying to see them again good minor league pitchers like actual prospects. If I know they are facing a legitimate prospect with a good fastball, I'll try and watch that game if it's available.
  22. Did you really point towards one time McKenna hit a 95 MPH fastball successfully as some kind of proof that you are right and I am wrong? lol In 2021 against fastball, McKenna hit: Avg XBA SLG XSLG WOBA XWOBA WHIF% .177 .197 .250 .317 .271 .300 34.1 Against 4-seam fastballs .138 .136 .207 .237 .259 .267 42.2% And because he has to gear up for fastballs, here's his awful numbers against changeups: .100 .203 .100 .238 .143 .239 30.4%
