  1. Peek is the best if the group overall prospect wise. He really shows a pretty good feel for pitching overall, but there's not a ton of upside on the stuff. Young is the best of the undrafted guys from what I've seen so far, but Denoyer was throwing harder than I've seen him this year in his last start and his slider at times was a swing and miss pitch. Feliz is another guy who's velocity has ticked up as the weather has gotten hot hitting 96 in his last start. He has a reliever vibe too me with a mainly fastball slider mix though he does mix in a change. I haven't really caught McLarty enough to have too strong of an opinion on him but hs velocity was not very high and I didn't see anything in his stuff that stood out to me. Stauffer hit 92 in his last appearance, but seems to sit more at 90 which is why I think they are only giving a couple innings a week. His stats look better than his stuff. Watson is a soft tossing lefty that can dominate young hitters with mixing his stuff up.
  2. Grenier and Ortiz could still be the near term shortstop of the future still as well. Westburg has the most upside as the SS of the future, and still think Henderson will end up at 3B. I like Ortiz at 2nd base a lot defensively. If it were me, Leyba would be playing 3B, Jones at 2B and Urias at SS with Leyba giving Jones spells against tough righties. Valaika would be my utility guy right now. It's time to end the Franco experiement. He's not going to bring any value back at the trade deadline and is not worth keeping around when we have players that needs to get some major league experience.
  3. Eshelman vs Greinke, what could go wrong for the Orioles? lol
  4. Urias can play SS ok so that's why he's up. Leyba is a better defender at 2B than Jones even though he doesn't have a strong arm either.
  5. It's a good question overall. I like Jones bat a little better because I think it's a got a little more pop than Vavra, but I like Vavra better defensively. While Vavra has a below average infield arm, he has showed me some good range and hands and he turns the DP better than Jones even with the below average arm. Jones is a bit of a tweener in that he may not have the bat to be an everyday left fielder, but may not be able to handle second base effectively. He's just very stiff there. Of note, Jones has been playing left field some this past week. Vavra is still out and the team has not released a due back timeframe.
  6. Sorry about that. Try this link instead... https://forum.orioleshangout.com/forums/index.php?/subscriptions/ Not sure what's wrong with the store but subscriptions seems to work. Appreciate the support!
  7. I agree, trust me. I've seen the guy multiple times just kinda job to first base when he assumed he was out.
  8. Defensively, Leyba at 3B reminds me of Franco with a below average arm. Not much of a hustler overall, but is a switch hitter who some semblance of what he's doing at the plate.

  10. I was there in 2019, and the traffic mid-week to get out of Tampa and to get there is not good. The stadium is absolutely awful. It was first time I've ever seen a game in a dome and hopefully the last.
  11. If you don't understand the difference between college sports and the pros, the I don't know what else to say. Both the A's and the Rays have done this for years, and neither draw well. I doubt Orioles fans overall would like their players being traded away as soon as they were arbitration eligible.
  12. Delmarva has done a great job this year adding a center field camera and even a radar gun occasionally. They just need to get a director that understands we want to see the center field camera during the pitches and really when the catcher is putting down the signs. Bowie should be embarrassed to be a AA team with no center field camera. Norfolk does a pretty good job overall as well. Aberdeen is a total an utter embarrassment. Can't believe Ripken would own a team with that broadcast.
  13. While be a pretty solid club overall, they don't draw fans. Partially its because of their awful dome stadium located in an area with increasingly terrible traffic, but also because fans probably don't want to get too attached to their players because they know they will be gone a soon as they get expensive. They haven't drawn over 1.5 million fans since 2013.
  14. Maybe, maybe not. Maybe he's Garrett Olson? Olson never could spin his breaking ball effectively enough with the major league ball. With only 6 unsuccessful starts in AAA, Kremer has not shown he was ready for the majors. i understood why he was given the chance, but its time for him to spend 10-15 starts in AAA.
  15. I really wanted to get a feel for him at AA tonight, but Bowie's broadcast is so pitiful that you really can't take too much from the pitching performances besides the results because of no center field camera. The thing that stops Bowie from being the worse broadcast is the good announcing and the fact that Aberdeen Ironbirds should be embarrassed by what they are calling a "broadcast".
  16. I think the difference in the ball is the main reason why these guys should have to have some successful time in AAA before coming to the majors. Kremer has never had sustained success above AA and not coincidentally, that's with the major league balls. i can tell you that the movement and sharpness of his curveball is different to what I saw in AA when I thought very highly of him. You can say the same thing about Lowther. His stuff doesn't look as crisp with the major league ball.
  17. Not everyone understands how players develop in the minor leagues and how at each level they find a new set of challenges to overcome. Lowether and Wells haven't even had consistent success in AAA. If they do, I have no problem with them getting chances at the major league level this year, but for now, they need to prove they can get AAA hitters out. Kremer has never proved he could get AAA hitters out consistently and now we have what we have with him. Akin has the most AAA experience but he's the same guy he was in the minors who always seems to give up that big inning. Akin probably is better suited to the pen and maybe Kremer too in the long run, but I'd like to see Kremer back to AAA for 10-15 starts. Heck, bring up Spenser Watkins and give him some starts. I don't think he's an answer to anything but he can eats some inning and probably pitch to a 5 ERA, maybe. There really isn't much in the cupboard. It exactly why Harvey is still starting. He's here to just eat as many innings as possible.
  18. I'm not sure why anyone would engage with Corn over the promotions of players and the minor leagues. He's so extreme that he's become a parody of himself, which is hard to do. He's crossed the Jtrea line of lunacy when it comes to this topic.
  19. I like what Elias has done with the draft and the international scouting, but he and his people have shown no ability to find these types of players. Most of his waiver claims were nothing more than replacement level or worse. Perhaps this is by design because he's trying to get good draft picks, but it has made for awful, awful baseball to watch at the major league level. Now his trading for prospects is still an unknown though several players are showing progress, but until they do well at the major league level he can't get credit for them yet.
  20. The team's pitching has become a joke and unless Elias is ok with watching this team break records for futility, he's going to have to start trying to do some things to make them respectable. There has to be better options in not only our AAA, but also other teams. I'm sure teams are hoarding pitching because of the inning concerns, but he can't keep running these guys out there or we are looking at unheard of records of futility by this team. We all understand what is going on with the rebuild, but this team isn't even competing anymore.
  21. Lol, this team really is an embarrassment. Kremer needs to go to AAA and stay there for 10-15 starts at the very least. He does not belong in the big leagues.
  22. It's honestly embarrassing to be a major league pitcher and walk the first three batters you face in a game.
  23. Jannis averaged 407 spin rate on his knuckler. That's not ideal for sure, but it explains why most of his knucklers have vertical drop more than erratic dancing.
  24. Three seconds of research would tell you he pitched 3 or more innings in five of his 8 appearances this season in the minors and was previously a starter. Calling Hyde/Elias dumb when you don't have your facts straight doesn't look good.
