  1. Actually I like the piggy back thing. If you have ten guys that need 3-5 innings for development it's much better than having a starter and then three org guys behind him throwing an inning.
  2. He could move up here soon if he can tap into that raw power more during game time. His plate discipline has improved this and he's a decent defensive outfielder from what I've seen. He's starting to grow on me more sure but his struggles to hit lefties this year may lead him to be a platoon guy.
  3. Blaine Knight has really taken some big steps to reestablishing himself as a starting pitching prospect and Joey Ortiz was making big strides before going down with an injury. Luckily, Cadyn Grenier has really made some strides with the bat though he still struggles on sliders away. Ofelky Peralta (96-98) and Felix Bautista (97-100) are two of the hardest throwing pitchers in the system not named Grayson Rodriguez or DL Hall, and both are throwing more quality strikes.

    Joey Ortiz 2021

The Orioles organization is keeping their minor league injury news tighter than NSA keeps their data. I've officially asked multiple times only to be told, "There is no updates to share." Considering they feed their Orioles owned- MASN people information before anyone else, we'll just have to wait until Steve or Roch are fed something. Basically you have to wait until their "state run" media puts out any information or one of the other beat guys use a source to get information (if they really care enough to try and get that info). I'm done digging up sources and I don't want the people I do know to have their job jeopardized by me asking injury questions. It's sad that the organization does not feel this information is important to their fans. With very little excitement happening at the major league level, you would think they would be very interested in keeping fans engaged with the future, but alas, they have very little desire to keep the media and it's fans informed besides fluff pieces on particular prospects. It's disappointing that Ortiz went down since he was making strides as a prospect but if he can't get and stay on the field, it will drop him behind a deep depth of middle infielders in the organization. Same thing with Anthony Servideo who really did nothing well much besides walking in his playing time before going down. Who knows, these guys could be out for another week or have career threatening injuries. With the Orioles organization now, we'll know when they decide the peasants/fans are allowed to know.
  5. He's still very weak with the bat and has a below average arm for SS which will limit his effectiveness outside of 2B. He hits a lot of ground balls and rarely barrels anything but he has been slashing hits around. He just looks like he hasn't really grown into his frame any or at least it hasn't shown much in his contact. He's only 21, but you would like to see a little more strength in the swing. He's a NP for more unless something drastically changes.
  6. Thanks, I typical focus on the rankings more than remembering to change their affiliates when they move around. I'll get to the changes here shortly though, thanks.
  7. Updated as of July 5th. Expanded to 50 now with the Florida Complex League starting up.
  8. Exactly. The folks that want every prospect rushed to the majors don't realize how important these steps are when it comes to making adjustments and learning at a level where they aren't crushed. Henderson is certainly trying to learn how to shorten his swing a bit as they are working him pretty hard inside right now. He's a got a ton of talent but seems to have gone into a horrific slump just when he was promoted. the talent difference is not that much that he should be totally dominated so he should be ok. Last night was terrible game where he went 0-for-4, 2 Ks and 2 errors at SS. I really think they need to leave him at 3B and stop moving him back and forth, but it's hard to know whether he's taking his bat woes into the field. This is probably his longest bout of failure so it's a learning experience for him. Let's see where he is after 100 PAs.
  9. Please start a new thread with new moves instead of adding them to the thread about other moves. Just makes it a little confusing and people could miss stuff. Thanks.
  10. Acquiring Gutierrez is a bit of a head scratcher for me. The guy has never hit for power, seems like a high error guy at 3B, and not sure how he's part of the future or much better than Leyba as a place holder.
  11. You have to hope that since it's CF, Mullins is the best choice to start. He certainly deserves the honor!
  12. I kinda agree with Rosenthal on this. With charges like this, he should be placed on some kind of administrative leave where he gets paid similar to how Police officers are treated after a shooting incident. Let the investigation play out and then the league can make a final call. It probably does no one any good to let him pitch while this hangs over his head.
  13. You're good bud. I'm just trying my best to stay away from anything political and we all know how quickly it will get into this. Look at all the newbies who pounced. I know you really weren't being political, but I know how quickly it will get out of hand.
  14. Literally I'm just banning people who have attacked me or even liked the posts that attacked me. I'm literally trying to keep this non political. I may actually be going over board to keep things away from being political on here but of course I get attacked by people who were just waiting to attack me. This is easy. No politics. Bash me, you're gone. Like a post that bashes me or the site, you're gone. Focus on baseball and the Orioles. Anyone that can't doesn't belong here.
  15. Please do not politicize this topic. Discussing the "delta variant" and discussing city policies outside of Baltimore will certainly politicize this topic.
  16. It would be nice if Mundy got promoted to Bowie and di well in the second half. That would go a long way to cement his prospect status.
  17. He's base clogging slow, so he's limited to 1B. He's not very big of a target over there but I haven't seen anything that makes me think he can't play over there effectively.
  18. It's just a stupid take. How in the would would he be able to get to it under his jersey?
  19. Jomboy can be funny, but he's got a hardon for the Orioles as a diehard Yankees fan. I'm sure some kind of icy hot was being applied. How in the world would anyone think that's suspect. Just dumb.
  20. It's ok to be happy that we've reached a point where they are no longer required. That's about all we need to say here. We will not get into the political part of the policy or the feelings for or against. Thanks.
  21. Stop, you are going to make this political.
  22. Who had 8.2 IP before he went back down? Apparently he was coming into the game in the 7th when he experienced "shoulder soreness" and Hyde had to go to Fry. Seriously, I feel terrible for the young man. Maybe it's nothing, but we haven't heard of too many times where he was held out because of "soreness" where he didn't end up on the IL.
  23. Yes, I realize there are fans out there that won't care. It's fine. But most fans like to see the best players play in that game and if teams like the Orioles are going to start sending non prospects, it really destroys the integrity and fun of the game. Let the kid enjoy the event and throw his inning. Might be a good way to control his innings this year anyways. He's done it before and it never hurt him, but trust me, the Orioles do not care about these things. If it don't fit on their matrix some computer program spit out then it can't be altered.
  24. He right in with those guys. None can stay healthy over an entire season.
