  1. They need to cut this crap out...
  2. He's already said that.
  3. Uggh, mid game interviews while a player is playing is Frickin' spring training or All-Star game crap.
  4. I think she's trying to develop her own vernacular which wouldn't be that bad if she could just describe action fast enough to keep up.
  5. Well in his defense, he came into this year as the #7.
  6. He's a former major leaguer who was a starter in the minors mostly until this year. Here's his stuff today. Here's his major league stuff.. Looks like he's got a plus slider and he's tough against lefties. He's been nails as a reliever and that's probably why they are giving him another look as a starter.
  7. Well it would have been 2-1 Orioles now! lol
  8. Yeah, got to tip the cap there. Perfect pitch.
  9. We're bringing the leather today. Bad side, Irvin getting hitting hard.
  10. Real nice running catch by Hays. Waltimore works again.
  11. Maybe they're adding in his sub par arm. He doesn't always take the best routes but he can still out run some balls.
  12. Westburg's defense at 2B has fallen off according to most metrics, so that could be part of the concern. Right now, Elias may not want to theoretically downgrade defense at 3B and 2B. I feel like Westburg would be better at 2B if he played there full-time, or at least I'm hoping so.
  13. I would be absolutely shocked if Mayo had a huge learning curve at the MLB level. I said coming into this season that he was ahead of Holliday in being ready and he's ahead of him now. That's not a knock on Holliday, it's how good Mayo is right now. The Orioles are winning and Elias doesn't like to lose players, so guys like Urias and Hays are guy that could step into a Jimenez "pot hole" or be guy used in conjunction with prospects to net am impact reliever. Now, I know neither Urias or Hays have much trading value, but they could fill a short term need for someone. Elias may want Urias around to be a late inning defensive 3B if Mayo struggles at all and right now, Hays doesn't have much value other than left field against left-handed pitching, and Kjerstad hits left-handers pretty good. For now, Elias may be fine with keeping Mayo down unless an injury opens things up. It's sucks for him and the fans, but it makes sense from an org depth stand point.
  14. They switched them around a lot to give them experience at several positions. Bradfield covers more ground than anyone in CF, including Mullins.
  15. Trust me, I get it. I'm not saying I'm sitting there all confident when Kimbrel has guys on base in one run games, but I do know that he can strike guys out and get them to pop up. He's not easy to barrel.
  16. At 22-years old, Aaron Judge slashed .308/.419/.486/.905 and hit 17 home runs in 563 PAs between A-ball and AA. At 22-years old, Coby Mayo is slashing .314/.384/.647/1.031 with 17 home runs in 232 PAs. Gunnar is amazing, and he very well may end up a perennial 40+ homer guy, but nobody in AAA or higher as more raw power than Coby Mayo and this is the first year he's really tapping into it consistently. Coby Mayo is ready to mash MLB pitching right now. In two years, unless he's injured, I would suspect he'll be among the league leaders in home runs. Watching pitchers try to navigate a lineup that includes, Gunnar, Adley, Mayo, Kjerstad, Cowser, Westburg, Holliday, and in a not too distant future Samuel Basallo is going to be fun to watch.
  17. 100%. But that would mean someone at MASN cares about their content. Hopefully that will change with Rubenstein.
  18. It was a terrible trade for sure, but I think they knew they weren't going to be able to afford DeCinces as a free agent. Either way, he needed to get out from under Brooks' shadow since he was his replacement. Still, the thought of DeCinces next to Cal would have been nice. Imagine if they were able to afford Grich too. Free Agency killed the Orioles once it really got going, and then their drafting got pretty terrible too. The Orioles were in the playoffs 6 of 9 years from 1966 to 1973, winning two World Series. From 1977 (when free agency really kicked off), the Orioles made the playoffs in 4 of the next 34 years, winning one World Series in 1983.
  19. It really is a great enhancement. I wish they would start doing this to old games and give us an archive. I know there are some on You Tube, but wouldn't it be great to be able to pull up any Orioles game from the past? I'd love to found an amazing game and go back and watch.
  20. If we're talking one season, Zach Britton's 2016 season has to be on top. He was 47 for 47 in save opportunities. Of course that wasn't good enough to pitch in the most important game of the year, but that's for another thread!
  21. The fact that this team is obliterating team and MLB records for home runs without a guy who very well could end up the best power hitter on the team at some point is pretty amazing. Mayo might be the best prospect in this system. Really Holliday, Mayo and Basallo all could lay claim to the best prospect in the system.
  22. The Fangraph rankings didn't have Liranzo and Almeyda either so are you using them as your "bible"? I mean, I'm not knocking them, but they are clearly going of draft status on some of these guys and not having Etzel on here when he's totally outplayed everyone else, including Bradfield, in his draft class so far is head scratcher. I'm not ready to say Etzel is a better prospect than Bradfield yet, but it's not out o the question. I think Bradfield has been working on a new approach and swing this year and that's why the production has been slow to come. I still have high hopes for Bradfield and he's still an impact defensive outfielder.
  23. I'd like to point out that Mayo has made one error since May 11th at 3B and has 2 errors in his last 25 games at 3B.
  24. This is the lineup I want to see more times than not. I still think Mullins should play 4-5 times a week though so a rotation of Mullins, Santander, Cowser, and Kjerstad would give everyone enough playing time and keep them fresh. Although I think Mayo would move up in the order very quickly.
  25. I'd pack their bags for them if that was available.
