  1. Not sure how this thread turned into you dumping on some Little Leaguers, but that's enough, thanks. Let's get back to the topic at hand.
  2. Buck Britton was not happy with McKenna's baserunning last night. https://www.baltimorebaseball.com/2019/09/05/baysox-comeback-stalls-harrisburg-takes-game-2-eastern-league-division-series/
  3. And now McKenna, representing the winning run, gets doubled off second base on a Diaz flyout to end the 11th. Like weams said, his head was not in the game on that one.
  4. Now it's a ballgame. After getting no-hit for 5.2 innings, the Baysox got three straight hits, the last one of which was a Carlos Perez three-run homer. 4-3 Harrisburg after six innings.
  5. Sloppy defense from the Baysox so far. In the first inning, they had a runner out at the plate dead to rights, but Carlos Perez dropped the ball. In the second, Yusniel Diaz couldn't catch a fly ball in foul territory that would've ended the inning, and then Mason McCoy booted a routine grounder to short to let a run score. Shape up, guys, it's the playoffs!
  6. Lowther and Wells started on 9/1 and 9/2 and haven't had enough rest, and the O's are being careful with Sedlock, so I guess Herb was the remaining choice.
  7. Tyler Herb is totally not living up to his end of the Mike Yastrzemski trade.
  8. Only if they can pitch to the hitters instead of him. I'm seriously not understanding the connection you're trying to make here. Why would other relievers have any impact on how effective Scott is? Unless you mean that they'll come in and clean up his messes and strand his inherited runners.
  9. In 1994, before the season was wiped out by the strike, the Rangers were leading the AL West with a 52-62 record. It would've been interesting to see how it would've played out.
  10. Say what? If somebody doesn't like your opinion, they have every right to reply to it and offer their own. That's kind of how message boards work.
  11. Interesting for a small fraction of people, perhaps. But not remotely the reason why baseball attendance has declined.
  12. Source? This, on the surface, seems like complete nonsense, unless you have some studies to back it up. If you were to do a poll of why people don't like baseball, I'd guess less than 1 percent of folks would answer "There aren't enough hit batsmen" or "I need to see more petty squabbles between teams trying to injure each other." There's a litany of reasons why attendance is down. Those aren't on the list.
  13. You heard it here first: the failure to take Asher Wojciechowski out of an August game in the fifth inning is what made a 56-year fan finally give up on the Orioles.
  14. A mid-game promotion?
  15. Definitely correct. Yordan Alvarez has never been in the Orioles' system. He was signed by the Dodgers as an IFA in June 26 and traded to the Astros that August.
  16. And not including the hits that he's given up, his hit count has been exceptional (zero hits).
  17. It's a three-plus hour game involving the second-worst team in baseball. Five minutes without play by play, to discuss the debut of a player who's crucially important to the future of the franchise, is a good use of time, IMO.
  18. What's preventing you from watching the game while the interviews are going on?
  19. You really can't stand to take five minutes out of a broadcast of a 34-69 team to talk about one of the most highly touted prospects in Orioles history?
  20. Cut the crap. Links to outside stories are always welcome here. Nobody is required to post a synopsis for your benefit.
  21. Grenier could still be at Frederick whenever Rutschman passes through.
