Good to know it wasn't just an isolated quirk of the schedule.
The O's won 17 games in each of April, May and June. Keep doing that and they win the division easily
The O's went 18-12 in that brutal stretch, then immediately went on a 6-game west coast swing where they went 4-2. Impressive.
Do other teams have any 30 games in 31 days stretches in their schedule?
Will Kimbrel be an All Star? He's tied for 4th in saves with a 0.93 WHIP and .147 batting average against. I suggested a month or so again that he might get selected and got shot down. Is he deserving of a bid?
Fair enough. But if he's hitting I'll bet he's likely a 380-400 OBP. If he's hitting doubles and triples and 15-20 HR where would his OPS end up? Close to 900? If so I'll take that.
Bradfield and Norby maybe
You cherry picked the winners. I could dig deeper for the maybes or the mehs
Grenier, Servideo, Haskin, Cook, Hernaiz, Rhodes, Trimble, Williams, Burns, Pavolony, Willems, Higgins, Wagner
I want to see Mayo up as much as anybody. But any swap of Urias for Mayo is a value bet on defense for offense at 3B. And (like Holliday, Gunnar, Cowser, Kjerstad, Stowers, et al) there is no guarantee that Mayo will even immediately offer offensive value in his adjustment to big league pitching.
Would the O's have to trade, release or slip Urias through Waivers?
I'm so jealous. My brother lives in SF two blocks away from Golden Gate Park, and one block away from the N Judah line that pretty much takes him all the way to the ballpark. I visit him once a year and somehow have never been to a game.
There was an ESPN article on his start where Cole said the drop in velocity was intentional. That he "dialed back the velocity after issuing three walks and throwing 28 pitches as the Mets jumped out to a 1-0 lead."
I don't buy it.
