  1. I'm so conditioned by the cheapness of the Angelos family. I'm assuming all of them only play 6 years (at most) with the O's, then wear another team's cap for their HOF caps.
  2. My comment was aimed at your original post
  3. Hamstrung is right. Bob Wade's team went 9-17, 18-13 and 9-20, and then left Gary Williams with a 3 years probation, no NCAA tourney for 2 years and no live television for an entire season.
  4. The article actually linked to an MLB.com article by Will Leitch, listing O's as the 10th likely landing spot.
  5. You must not remember the Bob Wade era or the rough first 4 years of Gary Williams.
  6. Wasn't @Roll Tide saying that he would hit 250 and add to his walk total?
  7. Thanks for posting. Some nasty looking pitches there.
  8. Again... agreed. My thinking was I don't want to do a bad deal just to do a deal for a starter.
  9. Agreed. The O's won 101 games last year WITHOUT Cease. They do need to improve IMO, but it's not as if he is the last piece of the puzzle that means a title. If the deal isn't right, I'd rather go to war with Bradish, GRod, Means, Kremer, Wells, Hall and Irvin.
  10. Unless the other GM might want a 3rd or 4th to make the return seem more substantial? Maybe a young international player?
  11. Depends on the return, but #5 seems the most desirable to me.
  12. Not to be a tangent hog, but I'd rather see what lottery tickets we could get for Urias and Mateo and hold onto both Westburg and Ortiz. It's also possible that Santander gets dealt which opens two outfield spots for Cowser and Kjerstad.
  13. We had horses, but even horses can get run over by a full speed bullet train (TEX)
  14. Ya I do... I should have done a double quote for the other poster. My apologies.
  15. Frazier driving in Mateo was the highlight of the year IMO
  16. In 1989 Anderson/Devereaux/Finley had WAR of 0.3/2.3/0.4. Bradley 2.9 and Orsulak 2.0. The 5 had a combined WAR of 7.9 In 1969 Buford/Blair/Robinson had WAR of 7.1/4.8/7.5 (combined 19.4). In 1970 it was 5.8/4.5/4.8 (combined 15.1) It's not even close
  17. Better than Buford, Blair and Robinson? No chance
  18. At the time of the trade, Davis was one of the most feared hitters in the game, and I could be wrong but none of those 3 prospects were considered to be so valuable that there would be seller's regret.
  19. We can bee in a position to make a trade whether we are buyers or sellers.
  20. Am I the only one who thinks he "steps in the bucket" a little and could be vulnerable to outside heat?
  21. Part of me wants to trade Urias and Mateo for even marginal value to open up spots/roles for the prospects. Maybe give more opportunities for guys like Westburg, Norby and even Mayo to play in the outfield. That wouldn't address the team's pitching needs though.
  22. Unfortunately, I think other teams want pitching, which is not a part of the O's organizational depth.
  23. It's a solid theory for sure. He wouldn't be the first outfielder who struggled to come in or go back.
  24. Or that's where the coaches were positioning him. That could have been either their strategy or what you suggested. Where were the other outfielders positioned?
