  1. I just wish they both weren't ready for promotion at the same time.
  2. Maybe I should have said he hasn't traded bats for anything to be excited about.
  3. Elias is demonstrating... how exactly? He has an over-abundance of position players and a limited pipeline of pitching. I just always assumed that the farm system was so atrophied that he had to start somewhere. Perhaps in future drafts, and in international signings, he can focus on pitching.
  4. It may have been the Flanagan-Beattie phrase, but it doesn't mean it was wrong. They just weren't capable of building a farm system... period IMO.
  5. I haven't fully examined the posts in this thread. There must be volumes of data on how a pitcher recovers from elbow surgery. But how can anyone know how Ohtani's elbow will hold up next year swinging the bat while recovering?
  6. I always thought the adage was grow the arms and buy the bats.
  7. It's really only like $600 mm with the Time Value of Money
  8. And those same guys will say "We need to do SOMETHING'" without really thinking about what creates real win value for the team. Right?
  9. Kremer won 13 last year with a better WHIP and ERA.
  10. Then I'm pretty sure the O's won't acquire Cease or anyone like him.
  11. Didnt quite answer the question. Do you value Kremer more than Povich AND McDermott? Because it seemed like you were opposed to dealing Kremer instead of prospects. Unless you meant all prospects and not just pitching prospects?
  12. I suppose my next question would be... would you rather give up Kremer in a trade or both of Povich/McDermott?
  13. So I suppose my next question is... whose body of work do we trust more at this point... Cease or Kremer? EDIT: I mean... whose body of work is more reliable in telling us who each pitcher is, not which pitcher is better
  14. Bingo. Do we believe that Cease would be an upgrade over Kremer?
  15. What if it was Cease for Cowser, Ortiz and Kremer?
  16. The crazy part is that it's likely that the same people who say "Why is Elias hoarding prospects" are the same ones who will scream "He gave up too much!"
  17. It will cease to exist when Cease gets traded to Atlanta
  18. Maybe they don't want to be the first to offer so they dont overbid?
  19. Encouraging win away against UCLA. Jahmir Young with 37 points, which was needed because Julian Reese had 1 point and fouled out with like 5+ minutes to play. The Terps are likely to be bottom feeders next year. Their depth is awful, and they lose Young, Scott and likely Reese next year. I wouldn't be shocked if Harris-Smith enters the portal. And Willard is putting all of his recruiting eggs into the Derick Queen basket, but I believe he will end up somewhere else.
  20. Based on that video, he strikes everybody out.
  21. Yes, when the O's are sellers after they fall out of the playoff picture. (ducks and weaves)
  22. I don't have any issue with the O's development of pitchers. I just wish they had drafted more of them.
