Hall sucked, but this game was lost when we had the middle of our order all strikeout with Adley on second. The offense has been anemic.

They seem very down on Stowers who I will say hasn’t looked that great, but Adley looked like shit for the first 30 or so games too

You are probably right that Sulser would have been the better choice here, but not Perez.

What about Henderson, Aguilar, and Hays in the ninth made you so hopeful?

I probably would have thrown Sulser, but there is nothing about the offense today that would make him think that we are likely to win. As I said, a sweep would be devastating. What happens if you are up 1 in game 2 and have to pitch Hall because you are out of guys?

You can look at every Hall thread, I said this would happen. If you watched him at all in the minors, this is not a surprise.

Honestly, he is playing for a split here. He is holding Perez for game 2. He knows Lyles is only good for about 6 innings especially since he has been sick. A sweep would be devastating. Keep the good arms to hopefully win the nightcap

Thank you for saying this. It’s like people haven’t seen that we got a retread from the Reds that throws left-handed and hits 99 mph regularly. He has no idea where it is going. I don’t know what his attitude is like, but this needs to be a wake-up call for him that he has to get better at locating because the raw stuff is not that special for a reliever.

In a double header I understand why we have to pitch Hall, but he just isn’t ready to pitch in high leverage situations. It doesn’t help that he seems to get a bit nervous.

We finish our against the Yankees. Hopefully they have the AL East wrapped up by then so they don’t have to play their best guys against us. We aren’t catching them, so I would rather they win.

When I said it, I meant to convey how much I believe in Beavers and the skill set. It wasn’t a knock on anyone else by any means. Think more Gunnar type rising vs others not succeeding.

I don’t remember Jim Palmer ever being more excited about a young player than he is Gunnar. You can tell he really believes. He said good things about Adley when he came up to, but he seems blown away by Gunnar.

Stowers and Westburg wouldn’t be ahead regardless of if they graduated. Cowser is the only one that I think might make him #3. Holliday will be #1. GROD and Gunnar graduated. I like beavers toolset and think he will make a rapid rise.

I thought so but was looking for some possible explanation as to why he would wait. I haven't taken a good look at the 40 man crunch, but that might be a very real concern for Elias. I still would err on the side of trying to win though.

I agree with everything you are saying. There also is Cruz’s positive PED test. I Santander’s defense he is much better than Cruz was at similar ages. Two years ago, he was a near elite hitter. Last year he was injured. This year is perhaps closer to his actual abilities. He also was a Rule 5 guy which can hurt development a bit. It would be ridiculous for him to end up a professional hitter like Nelson Criz, but this team needs a reliable guy in the middle and he is pretty reliable and not awful in the outfield.
