  1. Morris pitched his final couple years for the Jays and maybe the Indians, I think. I've used him before. Who's your former Oriole that you're thinking of?
  2. 7/9, 299 rarity score. Today's one was tough.
  3. Only if Irvin was going through some sort of dead arm period like Wells did earlier. But throwing to that slash line doesn't suggest that at all. Really, really poor planning by Elias and Hyde here. And no one's going to ask why he wasn't included, either.
  4. Does it need to be explained other than "he just didn't have his best stuff?"
  5. I get that everyone's moved back a spot, I just thought Webb was the wrong guy to be in that situation and the absence of Bautista shouldn't be dictating what's going on that early in the game. Bases loaded, game in danger of getting away from you, you don't bring that guy in. I'd have gone with a guy like Perez. Early for him, but you need a strikeout or a ground ball and that's a guy who can get it for you. If he's not available later in the game, so be it...worry about that then.
  6. That's true, everything did seem to go well for the Royals that year, too.
  7. I agree that Elias screwed the pooch by not getting bullpen arms at the deadline. And not putting Irvin on the roster is at his feet and Hyde's fee too, IMO. I am assuming the two work together to figure out the roster. I don't understand what not having Bautista here has to do with anything though, especially yesterday. I get that if we have Bautista, we might not have been treated to Baker as a roster spot isn't available for him. But what does not having Bautista have to do with Webb in a key situation yesterday?
  8. Agreed. He's been pretty solid. His command is good and I don't think we walk everyone in the stadium yesterday if he's on the mound for 3 or 4 innings.
  9. What gave it away? Seems everyone here can tell that "the moment was too big for him." Okay, fine. I disagree, but I'd like it if people could clue me in on what it is that made it so obvious that "the moment was too big for him." Is the moment "too big" for anyone that doesn't perform in a high stakes moment?
  10. Also meant to say, I agree with everyone wholeheartedly about Irvin. Not having him on the playoff roster is egregious.
  11. I don't believe the moment was too big for Grayson. Grayson came back after loading the bases and attacked, attacked, attacked. We've seen him hit 100 before and pitch well. Picked a bad day to not have his best stuff, but it happens. I think ultimately though you might be right in regards to running into a team that all of a sudden got hot. In that respect, they remind me of the Royals that year. Big differences between those teams though, the Rangers can hit, the Royals really relied on good defense and an elite bullpen. So far the Rangers defense looks fairly decent but their bullpen is a mess. Of course, our guys haven't been able to really expose that until it was too late yesterday. I'm hoping we can at least steal a game tomorrow so we don't look totally outclassed.
  12. Kremer. He’s stepped up and delivered some gems this year. No desire to see Westburg right now.
  13. Mullins not only hasn’t hit anything, he just looks bad.
  14. Up 6 but they go to their closer? Who’s managing for the Rangers, Hyde?
  15. Easily. Gunnar is great but Jung looks pretty damn good himself.
  16. Evan Carter has that patience Gunnar had earlier on.
  17. Cedric continues to be a non factor at the plate.
  18. Westburg’s versatility and defense has been nice. His bat has been disappointing. And no power.
