  1. This is all @OsFanSinceThe80sfault. He jumped the gun and put "mlb debut" in there for Vavra, totally jinxing everything. If Vavra gets sent back down and never gets to play in a major league game, I hope @OsFanSinceThe80shas a hard time sleeping at night.
  2. Yeah, I'm just messing with you. Flaherty never went to the Yankees.
  3. What about when Ryan Flaherty went to the Yankees?
  4. I'm really not interested in any celebration that doesn't include Ripken and Jones.
  5. We're in agreement here. As much as I like him, I just think this is a one year wonder story. While he's been very good, he's not bulletproof. Bautista looks like the closer of the future, I agree.
  6. If they're going to trade anyone and still attempt for an outside shot at a .500 season or a wild card berth, I wouldn't touch the bullpen. It's the unit on this team that it's the biggest strength.
  7. Live look-in at Tony when he hears that Mussina is coming to the 30th anniversary celebration:
  8. Getting the feeling they're gonna do Vavra like they did Stowers. Up for a bit, mostly on the bench, gets sent back down for no real reason.
  9. Today is a bad lineup, but this is to be expected. They don't typically field the A-lineup on a getaway day like today or on a Sunday afternoon. Sucks not being able to see Adley at bats, those are required watching. But if the game is late and close, you know he'll pinch hit for Chirinos. Dude needs a break anyway. But the first 1-4 have been pretty much automatic outs lately. Blech.
  10. Hey, this whole board is steeped in overreaction. We've been doing it for years.
  11. Not seeing how they’re the same in terms of trade value. I mean, Benny actually plays good defense for starters. From an OPS perspective I suppose they’re similar but I can’t see Mancini bringing back three pitchers.
  12. You guys disappoint me. You do realize there was nothing you could say to get the OP to change his mind, right? Although I did get to see CoC downvote a weird take and be uppity about it, that doesn’t happen often. Worth the price of admission.
  13. Yeah, this just isn't a good lineup considering who's hot and who's not. I get that Odor is a glue guy who can occasionally run into a fastball but he should be 9th if Vavra isn't going to play.
  14. With the way he's swinging, Urias should be 5th or 6th. Mountcastle and Hays aren't doing anything lately. AR batting #2 is fine, he's got the best approach on the team.
  15. I can't help it. Goofy looking dude. But he seems like a good guy and I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do.
  16. I'm getting the feeling that he won't be recalled anytime soon. If he is, it'll be for a spot start due to injury or he has to start in a doubleheader or something. If he gets recalled, it won't be for an extended stay. He's simply not an option for any club, especially one like this who has an outside shot at a playoff berth.
  17. The article posts a chart about run differential which is positive for June and July. IIRC, we're close to being even on the season, too. Great to see.
  18. This literally did make me laugh out loud. I used to hate getting Alvaro Espinoza cards when ripping through packs.
  19. Love to see it. Boston misery is the best, I hate them more than the Yankees.
  20. Never would have thought that the Orioles wouldn't be in last place this late in the season. Awesome.
