  1. Damn, I was hoping Durran wouldn't be back yet.
  2. PISS MISSILE! Gunnar's power stroke is BACK BABY
  3. Awful call. Who is this dickhead behind home plate?
  4. Same lifeless offense so far? Just tuning in.
  5. Yeah, yeah, you know what I meant.
  6. I like Holliday rising up in the order.
  7. Fair, and I don't necessarily disagree but we also don't know what this team will look like in 2028. A lot of stuff can happen between now and then.
  8. I don't really get it, but whatever. Hope Mayo gets more of a shot next year.
  9. Assuming you meant "this is his best chance to do so." Which...we don't know that. No one knew where this team would be 3-4 years ago, so how can we know that this right now is his best opportunity to win a World Series over the next 3-4 seasons? I'd have a hard time spending 40-45 million for Burnes...I don't care about his age, nor the holding runners on base...his strikeout rate is declining, which he says is by design but I don't know if I believe that. I'd gamble on Tony, but a lot of people are going to be pissed if we sign him and he gets off to his usual slow start next April and May...people seem to have forgotten that already. He wasn't exactly a favorite around here in May when his OPS for the month was .708. It'll be an interesting offseason, that's for sure.
  10. I was hoping there was some news like he was leaving for ESPN and that Gary Thorne had rightfully returned to his throne. Oh well.
  11. 7-7 or 8-6. The good thing is after this stretch they have a series against the Rockies who are inept...yet, we're awful against the NL somehow this season. Then the White Sox, then the Rays. So it should get a little easier after this tricky stretch. I still think this comes down to the wire between us and the Yankees with the 3 game series in New York in late September looming large. And then of course the last series of the season is against the Twins who always give us fits. I can't wait to see Bailey Ober soft toss his way through 7 shutout innings to ensure we lose the division to the Yankees, it's gonna be awesome.
  12. The piss missile last night was great to see. Here's hoping he gets on a power heater again, that's something we certainly need. .306/.358/.490 for a .848 OPS in August so far. The defense seems to have settled down, too.
  13. He made a nice play on a grounder last night...cut off Henderson and made a throw on the run to get the runner by a half step or so. The physical tools are certainly there. The arm strength is there. I'm not ready to write off a 22 year old ballplayer on much of anything right now. I'm not unaware that there's work that needs to be done, but there's still room to grow in all aspects of his game...including defense. The book on him hasn't been written. I also don't believe anyone suggested that this would iron itself out at the big league level. If Westy and Mateo don't go down, I don't think Mayo is here right now.
  14. Was more impressed with the walk than the hit.
  15. Pitched well tonight. Would like to see him string together some consistently good starts.
  16. I don’t understand how someone with his alleged power hits so many balls on the ground.
