Don’t know, don’t care. Not to sound too callous but I don’t think Dean Kremer was in anyone’s plans this year or moving forward after this year. He kind of pitched his way out of being considered a piece for the future.

When an athlete is getting other opinions, it’s obvious as to what is going on. They don’t like what they heard so they’re going to keep trying to find someone that will tell them what they want to hear. That’s basic human nature, just tuning into whatever you want to hear and ignoring the rest. But I’m assuming Means and the Orioles couldn’t find any dissenting opinions from the first thing they heard. Oh well.

Somewhere before the 2024 season we will have posts on here about how Elias won’t spend money on a free agent starter because Means will be coming back and that’s just as good.

If Wells can show that he can get through a lineup twice it doesn’t really matter to me if he’s doing it as a starter or reliever so long as he’s providing value somewhere. Overall I agree, Ellis and Watkins should be dropped before deciding if Wells goes back to the pen. Even though I’m more of a fan of him coming out of the pen, I’d rather see him get starts instead of the aforementioned. But if he’s good for 55-70 pitches each time out, does it matter if he’s coming from the pen or starting? In other words, say he throws 100 innings this year to a 3.80 ERA. Is the value of those innings weighed differently they’re from starting or relieving? Or does 100 innings of 3.80 ERA have the same value no matter where it’s applied?

Anyone who could be so slightly confused to think that Mancini turning into the field could have been possibly construed as making an intentional move towards second base is insane. Mancini was walking back to first. It was obvious. The umpire simply wanted to have a moment and flex. And I don’t care that Mancini got thrown out, he had every right to voice his displeasure in whatever manner he felt would get his point across. In fact, I hope he used Crash Davis’ magic phrase.
