  1. Well SG's usually fairly accurate and doesn't make stuff up. He's pretty reliable. And if I'm not a Westburg fan (I could really take him or leave him) it's something that I want to believe to be true. (I'm pulling your leg, interloper, lighten up)
  2. I think that's a bit of an overreaction. And no one here is not letting him play to see where he ends up.
  3. It's all good. Still not a flattering profile of a ballplayer. Here's hoping he's not reaching his limits as a professional.
  4. Yeah, that's the type of profile that I want to draft. The guy that acts like he doesn't care.
  5. He hit .285 in college. It’s probably too much of a simplistic way to look at things but it’s hard to buy into his bat when his college OPS was .831. Wasn’t ever concerned about him raking at the lower levels.
  6. Just because they're swinging at balls in the zone doesn't mean they're able to make contact. In regards to Westburg, I never really understood the excitement around him.
  7. Lol, like Cano is a big upgrade at this point over Odor/Owings?
  8. Here we go! Monday afternoon baseball, this doesn't happen too often.
  9. Might be the biggest surprise of the year so far.
  10. Gives me PTSD of "The Calvary." It is getting obnoxious. But when that's all you've got to look forward to, it's not surprising that it's what everyone wants to focus on.
  11. Maybe. I wonder how much of the pitching success we're seeing is due to having a dead ball now. Granted, everyone else has a dead ball, too, so it's a level playing field. I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't encouraged by how they've played so far. Gotta get Adley and G-Rod up. See how this team is doing in July and then we'll see.
  12. Took me awhile to find it: https://video.masnlivestream.com/video/Kyle Bradish on his rough fourth inning against Twins/2170 It's not that bad, IMO. Not all of these guys are going to be brilliant and engaging in front of the media. Not all of these guys are going to like answering questions, especially after a bit of struggling. Maybe there's a little bit of Bedard here, and that's fine. Which brings me to the best ever Bedard/media exchange: Bedard: "I'm only allowing three questions." Reporter: "Why only three questions?" Bedard: "That's one." I died. That was hilarious.
  13. Yeah, if the season ended today he'd probably be the front runner. Can't wait to see what he does against us.
  14. I'd like to believe this, but it looks like he's just on an upward trajectory. He's not on a Maddux level for a career or even a full season but 0 walks in 31.2 innings is Madduxian.
  15. Overall, I will say this is a tempest in a teapot. Anyway, Cody, if you're reading...nice pube-stache.
  16. That does suck. I thought he looked pretty good against the A's and was thinking he might be a surprise for us this season.
  17. He just graduated in 2018 and roots for the Jaguars, too. I remember my first few beers after graduating, it's okay.
  18. First month of the season, I'm not worried.
  19. FWIW, I also thought that something had happened to him based off the thread title.
  20. He's not bad. But he's not great, either. This is what kills me. I think it was you that said he tried to be too cute all the time and I agree with that.
  21. Urias has been disappointing so far. Mateo and Odor are about what I thought they'd be. Batting Nevin higher than them is really a nothingburger, IMO.
