  1. It means that the Orioles organization guards state secrets.
  2. With Elias and his promotion of yoots....
  3. Yeah, I don't see that timeline happening. Had he been playing in games already, possibly. But we don't even know when he's going to be playing in games. Given how conservative they are with absolutely everything, I can't see them having play games in Norfolk next week and all of a sudden being promoted to Baltimore in the first week of May. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see it. But i just don't see how that happens.
  4. Would be interested to know if our guys get hurt at a higher rate than other organizations. Some of that might have to do with training, it also might just be dumb luck.
  5. True. But also, I'm not sure what "balanced" home runs would mean to them. It seems like there's always an onslaught of them...just too many homers. Or in this particular case, not enough. I'm not sure what the sweet spot is and I'm not sure if MLB can rig the game to hit that sweet spot if they knew it themselves.
  6. Do we have a video of it?
  7. Adley Rutschman doesn't exist. He's a hologram created by Elias in order to make sure that his farm system ranking remains #1.
  8. I agree, I think we all do. If he can be a guy that Elias and Sig and Co. turned around, that would be quite a success story. Dude's got an electric arm, just a matter of harnessing it.
  9. Well, it looks like it's Opposite Day on the OH. The king of small sample sizes is arguing for bigger sample sizes. WC, I agree. I think we all agree that we need to see more. But there's some things to like here.
  10. He was on his quest to find his wizard gear, duh.
  11. This is where I'm at. One could argue (and I'm not necessarily arguing this, it's still too early) that other pieces in the bullpen are settling into their roles. I'm not sure if I'd be switching guys in and out of the closer role at the moment. Lopez looks pretty good.
  12. Yeah, but they're good tricks. High powered offense brings out the casual fan.
  13. Yeah, MLB won't let this go on for long. They'll release a batch of rabbit balls they've got stored somewhere, I suspect.
  14. Glad he's found his magic hat and wand since he seemed to have lost it all of last year. Maybe they were in a clubhouse couch cushion or something.
  15. On top of that, offense is down across the league and everyone not named Santander is ice cold.
  16. That hammer curve he dropped in the bottom of the zone on the first pitch in the 9th was filthy. For being the resident optimist of the board, you pick some weird things to be not optimistic about.
  17. I feel like we didn't get 3 shutouts all last year.
  18. The A’s are usually good and consist of guys I barely know so it’s hard for me to tell if it’s their AAA squad or not. I guess no Chapman and Olson is a good place to start though.
  19. 1-0 shutout over the A’s. Pitching was mostly dominant throughout. Defense looked pretty good, too. Glad to see Lopez work in the 8th and have a lights out 9th.
  20. If it's not bull**** that they saw something in his analytics that they thought they could work with and make him into a good pitcher after 12 years in the majors, I will be impressed. Until then, I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.
  21. Man I think Chirinos just got drilled in the face. Yikes.
  22. Moving the fences back is probably a good idea for a lot of places. Doesn't fix the strikeouts, though. IMO, the strikeouts are the biggest problem.
  23. Yeah, baseball is in a pickle. Looking back on it, it seems logical that baseball would have been reduced to this but I'm not sure where the game goes from here. The game needs less strikeouts and more balls in play. I'm not sure how they accomplish that without starting to mess with sacred things like moving the mound back. I'm not a purist but I think 60 feet 6 inches is one thing you don't change. I miss base stealing, doubles, triples, etc. The game needs more action. 100 mph relievers were a novelty back in the day, they're a dime a dozen now.
  24. Meoli's Substack was about him today. i'm not subscribing to it, but the teaser (first few paragraphs) he sent out was enough to catch my interest. Here's hoping we've got a good one to watch.
