  1. I agree with Tony, way too early for that. Wieters was still pretty good, despite all the grief I (and others) gave him. That bat looked damn slow though, until he'd square one up. We all got a bit carried away with "Joe Mauer with power" and "Switch hitting Jesus" when he was killing it in the minors. Wieters may never have became the guy we thought he was going to be but he's still had a very good career. At the very least he was a GG catcher and made some All-Star teams. If AR can match that, it'll be a good career. Won't be what we're all hoping for, probably including him...but it'll still be a good career.
  2. Fair enough, I really don't think either of them are going to have a fantastic season. If Lopez is your guy, that's fine, too. Getting back to the main point, I just don't want to see any prospects lose out to a guy like Lopez and/or Harvey.
  3. Totally agree. If we're going to give a guy a shot to reclaim some former glory, I'd want it to be Harvey. Felix doesn't have anymore velocity....Harvey at least looks to still have some power stuff. Above all I'd rather see a prospect get the rotation spot but if they're insisting on carrying a veteran guy, I'd rather see Harvey before a guy like Lopez, LeBlanc, etc.
  4. All anyone has to do is look at the video of Harvey's fastball/slider/sinker whatever that was that was posted a few days ago. Lopez probably couldn't do that on his best day pitching, ever. And Harvey is a guy coming back from a lot of stuff and trying to get his career back on track, it's not like it's peak stuff.
  5. Froberto Duran, reading too much into spring training stats?
  6. At the end of the day, I'm glad you can have a laugh.
  7. At the end of the day, Maikel seems like a good dude. Happy to have him on the team this year.
  8. There haven't been any reports about him being held out of practice, being held out of games etc, in regards to his endurance. I'm sure those things are being closely monitored but I don't see why he can't be ready to begin the year in Baltimore. I really don't think there's much here to worry about. As I said before, you can probably find stretches for just about anyone that's played long enough where they went without extra base hits.
  9. I'm assuming you could find 22 plate appearances for a lot of players in their careers and find a stretch where they had nothing but singles. That said, his power might be slow to come back. Who knows. But at least he's healthy and swinging pretty well this spring so far.
  10. I'd agree, I think Harvey makes the team, too.
  11. Power arms aren't really scarce anymore. Yeah, I'm tired of him being hurt. You're not? Like I said, let him and his constant injuries be someone else's problem.
  12. What, you can't work up one of your famous hypothetical trades for what we could get back for a reliever who's spent more time on the IL than appearing in pro games? I didn't mean release him. Just find a taker for him, let his constant injury issues be someone else's problem.
  13. Feel bad for the guy. No one wants to go out like that.
  14. I just don't see it with this guy. He's been given plenty of opportunities, he can't stay healthy. He's got some electric stuff but it's no good if he can't get out on the mound for an extended period of time. IMO, time to cut bait.
  15. I had that frozen on my screen on MLB.TV, too. I tried refreshing a bunch of times. Nothing.
  16. Felix looks like he's throwing wads of toilet paper towards the plate.
  17. We're adult men talking about baseball on the internet while pretending to work. Your dignity flew out the window the moment you made your first post on here.
  18. Maybe those back treatments have a happy finish. A Bob Kraft South Florida Special.
  19. Damn, I was thinking he'd be signing for 1.5 or 2.
  20. My ass that was a fastball. Thing bit like a slider.
  21. Dude just needs to retire. It's pretty simple.
