Yeah but I am sure people gladly bought cars and suits from them. No one will be lining up to buy cars from some low A ball player.
What gets me is when I read about players having to eat at McDonalds for meals or missing meals. You would think they would want their prospects to eat nutritional meals.
An innovative owner would spend money on dorms with cafeterias and gyms for each affiliate and take care of their minor leaguers’ food and shelter needs.

If Burfict gets 12 for that, Garrett should get 16 for his assault tonight.

Looks like Steelers will be without their 7 time pro bowl center next game. Hit a player in the head with his own helmet and pentalties offset.
What? The Browns’ Garrett was the one who swung the helmet.
Don’t know what they do with Pouncey or if they do anything to him at all. But Garrett should get a 16 game suspension. Minimum.

Is there a written rule that Houston broke? It’s bush league, but did they break a rule?

Mlbtraderumors predicted a 1/8 deal for Puig. Let’s do it! He’ll earn his money in entertainment alone. Then you could flip hip at the Deadline and have a brawl before he leaves.

Haven’t seen the full rule written out. Does this mean if a guy comes in an inning and gets two outs to end an inning, you can’t pinch hit for him?

Agreed..as much as I enjoyed the show I see no reason for a new series/movie. Want to see if Skylar got the money from Gray Matter? No, not really. Make up with her sister? No...
Switch over to BCS. You won't be disappointed.
Maybe not another series, but I’d go for a Skinny Pete/Badger podcast.

Strasburg opted out with 4/100 left. He provided surplus value in his three years.

I thought Tommy John

He had a great MLB career. There are 800 of these guys. And pitchers break hearts.
Why are we viewing his career in the past tense? Did he retire?

IMO, they are moving on at the right time. They got a lot out of him.

Where is everyone going? How much will they make? Will we hear about the “C” word this year?

Heard a radio interview with Manfred before the game on Tuesday. He’s all for robo umps. Said that there is an updated version of the technology that they’ll roll out in the lower minors next season.

I’ll be upfront. I can’t stand the Nats and how half of their fans are casual fans who used to be O’s fans because DC is more convenient to get to or because they’re DC natives who think Baltimore is spooky but avoid east DC and Rockville like the plague, failing to realize the irony in that sentiment. I don’t like how this team hurts the orioles money wise and how that will continue because those DC fans are long gone and will never return. It sucks how the orioles don’t advertise in the Norfolk area where the AAA team is because more people identify with DC sports here and rather than trying to convert them, they do squat and don’t make any effort at it. This WS outcome is the worst possible outcome for the O’s MASN and ticket wise. Nats will own the region and a lot of the newer fans who are kids because they have a WS title in their lifetime versus the team that made it when Walkman’s were a thing and Reagan was in the Whitehouse. This next orioles core will be effected $ wise by this unless the Nats fall apart and have to rebuild when this core hits its stride and we get more MASN $.
Rockville? Who avoids Rockville? Weird.

I’d add Jordan Zimmermann (2nd round 2007) to your list. He was a key piece of the 2012-15 teams.
They made the right call on him in FA, and were lucky Desmond turned down their 9 figure offer.
-
So what does this team’s window look like?
I know they have Whitley as a prospect, but their other two starters are in their late 30s. I can’t see them being able to afford Cole especially when they have to take on a full season of Greinke’s salary and Altuve gets a $20M bump. -

If the Yankees signed Corbin, they win the WS imo.

Maybe you already do this, but can you note “how acquired” with each entry? I can’t keep last year’s trades straight in my head.

I’m going to shave, put on a suit, and show up in time. I’m going as a responsible employee. No one will recognize me.
That, or a sexy chicken sandwich.

That’s a good picture of the play. If Gurriel has his right foot on the bag and stretches out to meet the ball, the throw beats him.

Hate to break it to you, Frobby, but half the bag is in fair territory...and so is the other half.

Well, he turned down 7/210 from a World Series team. How much premium would this team need to pay?

Four games for what Garrett did would be unacceptable. They have to come down on him hard.
