What is your point? Why in the hell do the groundskeepers chalk a white running lane down the line for? Just to waste some chalk?
If your argument is it is a bad rule or they should have a double base that’s fine. The right call was made. This happened to Dwight Smith this year.
At no time did he ever run in the running lane. He took 4 steps on the grass. It was bad luck. A better throw and it doesn’t happen but it did.
So everyone on the Fox panel - ARod, Ortiz, Thomas, Smoltz are all wrong on this?
Did they make the wrong call with Bellinger against Boston in last year’s World Series when they didn’t call interference? Exact same path.
BTW, if Gurriel has his right foot on the bag and stretches, he catches it and Turner is out.

Simple question. Why is there a running lane there if you aren’t suppose to run inside of it? The call was correct.
Why is half the base in fair territory?
How different was Turner’s path than the Astro Rendon threw out two innings later? If he beats the throw does he get called out?

Dave Martinez is insane. You've got a three run lead despite the interference call. Calm down.
Should be four and still hitting.

Haha. Umps on the take this series. Not even being subtle about it.
-
Heard a radio interview with Manfred before the game tonight. He’s all for robo umps. Said that there is an updated version of the technology that they’ll roll out in the lower minors next season.
-
Some language in here.
But take a look at the part about the ump not calling strike three because Gomes started to go around the horn a little too early for the ump’s feelings.
This doesn’t show the obvious missed strike three prior to the Correra homer.

They need to get rid of the You Tube TV commercial that starts off with the catch in front of the Fenway standings board which immortalizes Baltimore 47 - 115 on the bottom. Glad I chose FUBO for a free trial to watch the series.
On the other hand the “hold my beer” Budweiser commercial with Charlize Theron.... best 30 seconds on TV!
No chance Charlize Theron sits at that bar by herself without those guys hanging around her.

Guess that this decides it.... the President doesn’t want to wear bulletproof protection.
Team confirmed that he wasn’t invited. Chef Andres will do the honors if there is a game 5. Chad Cordero does it tonight. Don’t know about game 4.

Good point. But still a play that people will remember if Houston goes on to lose. It opened up the flood gates, as these kinds of errors often do.
Probably true, but don’t walk three guys in an inning if you are trying to minimize runs.

Springer may have been on 3rd had Tucker read it better.
He was also hopping around out of the box instead of running. ARod called him on that.
One other little thing was the hard slide by Eaton and hustle by Rendon to prevent a DP before the Soto double.

I'm pretty sure Cole will be on a 1/4/7 track.
They just mentioned Soto's 21st birthday is Friday, when the Series gets to his home park for Game 3. That's some destiny right there.
That means you also have to pitch Grienke and Verlander on short rest or Grienke only gets one start.

I’m really impressed with how the Astros lay off good pitches right off the plate. Their whole lineup has a great approach.
Pressure moves to Houston. Have to beat Strasburg to stay away from 0-2. Anyone know who would pitch game 4 for them?

Not quite sure why Cole was pitching to Suzuki like he was Johnny Bench. Started this whole inning.
He sat for a long time in the previous half inning.

It’s funny how Gerardo Parra is now something of a cult hero among Nats fans, with his Baby Shark walk-up song and people wearing shark costumes in the crowd. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2019/10/21/how-baby-shark-became-anthem-nationals-season-world-series-run/%3foutputType=amp
Parra is being given a lot of credit for loosening up the Nats’ clubhouse. His arrival preceded the Nats’ turnaround by just a couple of weeks.
Stevenson is the better option, but no way do they leave him off the roster.

The current hubbub aside does anyone do things "the right way" more than the Astros?
The Yankees were better at bringing in pitchers with domestic violence issues than the Astros and Osuna, but they still couldn’t get past them.

How much do you think they offer Cole this offseason? I bet they wish they gave Corbin that extra year.
-
Probably not. Most, if not all, of those guys are dead. They sure as hell are not in a position to throw games today.
-
So, for those who didn’t want to lose Flacco, would you be willing to trade Denver a 4th rounder to get him back?

Last night it really hit me, but baseball's biggest problem might be that its biggest playoff games are on TBS. The Yankees and Astros have some of the biggest and most marketable players in the game. It is exactly the type of game that should be use to expand the game.
I wanted to watch it. But as a cord cutting millennial, it was simply too difficult for me to get it on my TV. I ended up watching Joe Flacco throw to empty parts of the field during the lousy Thursday Night Football game.
So, if me, a huge baseball fan isn't even going through the trouble to watch a ALCS game between two big teams - - what are casual fans doing!?
Cut the cord. But then stagger your free trials of Sling and YouTube tv to watch the playoffs before the World Series. Or pay one month of sling for $25

When Giants stadium was built NYC was in pretty bad condition. Tons of crime and talk of the city going bankrupt. It isn't the NYC you see today.
DC was in worse shape then we are now. Crack smoking mayor. Tons of crime. Highest murder rate in the country with under reporting of murders. Georgetown fought a metro stop as they didn't want all the crime hitting the one part of the city with low crime.
Why was the new stadium built in NJ if the city is doing well?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. But think about how much better off the team would have been if they traded away Rendon and Scherzer in June.

Greinke and Corbin have been hittable this postseason, unlike the other 4. I'd consider Sanchez 3, Corbin 4.
Corbin was dealing last night. He got squeezed in the fourth. Martinez and Molina were the only ones that had really good swings. He made Goldschmidt look like Chris Davis.
I’d set it up as Scherzer, Sanchez, Strasburg, Corbin. — so Strasburg is there for game 7. Corbin can be a Loogy in games 1, 2, 6, or 7. Scherzer could also give an inning in game 7.

My memories of the World Series this decade and a half are not as vivid as they were in the 80s and 90s.
Is Strasburg’s performance tonight the most iconic this decade? I remember Bumgarner having a great series, but I remember that being because of a great relief appearance on short rest. This has to rank up there with Johnson, Schilling, and Morris. What other ones am I not recollecting? Kind of remember Cliff Lee.
