Only one of nine teams in baseball history to make the playoffs after being 12 games below .500.
Scherzer wore googles with one blue eye and one brown eye.
-
Harper has enough money to buy playoff tickets this year. His boys have been eliminated.
-
So, that went well last night.
What’s crazy to me is the left side of the line is playing a lot better than the right side.

If we lose we are even with them and they have a game against the Dolphins left and don't have to play the Chiefs. I would consider this game one we need to win as it is at home.
Cleveland gets to play the Dolphins, but not the Jets.
The Ravens get to play the Jets, but not the Dolphins.
Basically a wash.

Seems like that will be tough to prove. He had five appearances between the Colorado series and the trade and he put up zeros in each.
Sucks for Minnesota, but don’t see how they can and should be remedied.

He’s a free agent. Not great defensively. What kind of contract should he expect in the offseason?
-
Oliver Drake has put together a really fine season for a winning team.
-
It’s not going to work out for them.

Sign Rendon
Sign Cole
Sign Strasburg

So if he’s not in jail does Houston pick him up? Or would he not be eligible for the postseason?
Horrible situation for Pittsburgh and MLB.

Manusky needs to go, the defense has way too much talent to look as bad as it has the first two games. Sweat was supposed to be a premier talent in the draft and was only available late in first due to health concerns, I just don't see any other reasoning besides coaching and schemes that he shouldn't be in the backfield making plays all day but instead he is no where to be found.
Not that it needs to be said but this team is not a playoff team. Trade Trent Williams yesterday for a first round pick + and lets focus on building a solid young O-line starting with next years draft.
There are too many pieces on defense for it to be this bad. Just very vanilla giving the QB a clean pocket to make the deep throw.
I am surprised that Dallas didn’t attack Rodgers-Cromartie more often.
If they don’t make the playoffs (insert joke here), then Gruden is likely out. Todd Bowles is the guy I want.

Three teams still involved with two weeks left. The Cardinals are losing their grip on the lead. One WC team will likely come from the division with an outside possibility that two make it.

Just noticed O’Day is pitching again. Think it’s his third appearance. Love that guy.

Elias is the unnamed ex-Astro in the first article, right?
If I was an owner, I would invest in a complex for my minor leaguers. Set up a dorm-like environment with a cafeteria and let them live there year round. If they aren’t going to get paid, provide their food and shelter so they can develop without the stress of trying to figure out how to live or eat.

Scherzer's balky back and Strasburg's strong year make the wildcard assignment an interesting can to kick for the next few weeks.
The NL races except for the second wildcard are fairly settled - with another 7-10 days of solid play, the Nationals probably have another almost 10 days to game Tuesday October 1st anyway they want.
As bad as that bullpen is, I think Nationals fandom should join me in rooting for a Scherzer/Strasburg tandem day.
Max was really good in Atlanta this weekend. If he does similar tomorrow and his next turn, he should be the guy.
But you’re right that they’ll likely clinch a WC spot without a chance to catch Atlanta with about a week to go.
I’d actually pair Corbin with Scherzer to have a lefty/righty effect. As unreliable as their bullpen has been, I wonder if Martinez will lean on his starters in a one-game playoff. I see that they didn’t use Doolittle to close last night.

Try Goliath with Billy Bob Thornton as an attorney (right up your alley!) who is a deeply flawed person, but is dogged in his pursuit of truth.
Seconded.
i think the only Prime originals we got into were this and Maisel. We tried Man in the High Castle, but lost interest in the second season.

Devastating loss for the Brewers as Yelich is out for the year.

McGregor is staying with the team in an alumni relations capacity.
Sad to see Maduro and Minor go. Hope they land somewhere soon.

I wouldn’t want to put my two point plays on tape.
Harmon had a pair of catches and Moreland did well getting a lot of Morneau’s snaps. You’re right, Sweat didn’t make any impact plays. He did have one good play where he set the edge on a run, funneled the rb back inside and made the tackle. Other than that he didn’t do much.
Scherff and Ioannidis were underwhelming too.

What an embarrassment that second half was yesterday. The whole Guice injury and AP inactive thing reeks of the Redskins just being themselves. Rumor has it that the players knew he wasn’t right. Sucks losing Allen for some time too. We just cannot catch a break...pun fully intended.
Manusky leaves a lot to be desired. No pass rush. Wentz had a crowhop on that second DJax touchdown. I’ve been a Jay guy because I believe he’s done a good job with the talent he has. But he has to make the playoffs or he’s gone.
Despite all that, there was some good things. They look like they may get a lot out this draft class.
And Flowers and Penn look somewhat passable.

They are literally tanking. and when I mean tanking, like making sure they lose 16 games. Really strange to see an NFL team do this but I guess they figure if it's get them their Franchise QB of he future, it's worth it.
Wild that they trade for Rosen, while tanking for Tua at the same time. Must be frustrating to be a Dolphins fan.

I think Peterson still have game left.
I think there could be enough carries, if both were healthy and having a good game.
2 different style runners, to keep the defenses from zeroing in on one, and this will open the passing lanes.
I was just reading between lines of a Peterson interview I heard. He said something to the effect that it’s not uncommon for guys in his stage of his career to play for multiple teams in a season.
He’s proven that he can’t stand being a backup.
I do agree that he can still play. But his strength is through a volume of carries to wear down a defense.

What do y'all predict for Guice this year? Will he be the RB1?
Gruden has basically said as much. I would not be surprised to see Peterson leave during the season.
I’m excited to see what they have in Guice.

I see a win total line at 6 (+121). I’ll take the over on that. The beginning of the season is tough, the middle is pretty soft. They could start off 0-5, and still end up with 7 wins, IMO.
i wouldn’t be afraid of playing Haskins if the line is holding up.

Fans can be ugly. But what he and his wife are complaining about is super soft. And from what I saw on Twitter, the offending fan was wearing a Sox hat.
It’s going to be a long 13 years if he can’t get his team to the playoffs.
