Bora’s is his agent. He will go to the highest bidder and the Orioles are never going to be the highest bidder on a pitcher especially. He is going to get a bigger contract than Cole with the Yankees.
That reminds me of when my friend who is a Yankee fan went on a text rant with me last year when Grayson out pitched Cole last year. He typed “how can’t we hit a pitcher with a 7 ERA” about 50 times. I told him he wouldn’t have a 7 ERA very long.
I just heard on the radio it will be Suarez, Povich, and Irvin for the Atlanta series. So the 6 man rotation is in place. I can see Kremer getting slotted in when he is ready for Povich. I wouldn’t be surprised he goes on a rehab the same night Povich pitches. This puts our top 3 against the Phillies. Yankee series will be more interesting since there will be a day off next Monday.
I think guaranteeing 1 is impossible in today’s game with the layers of playoffs. I hear from my Yankee fan friends how if they don’t win the World Series all the other wins don’t count. They haven’t won anything in 14 years, etc etc. I will take their level of success year after year any time. Like the Atlanta Braves on their run where they only won one World Series. The Braves had GREAT starting pitching during that run and only won one. I grew up very spoiled being born in late 1959. From when I remember baseball for the first time in 1966 until just out of college in 1983 we were good just about every year. Give me something in the middle of the original run in my life as compared to the last 40 years for the rest of my existence and I will be happy.
I am assuming Suarez, Povich, and Irvin go against Atlanta. Then they go with Bradish, Grayson, and Burnes against Philly. Kremer could factor in there somewhere if they don’t send him on a rehab.
