  1. Ok. “Poking fun” “being playful” joking around” “being an ass” take your pick. I tend to do that with folks I like and interact with. Guess it doesn’t translate well through the internet. Currently working on a 1500 piece Porche GT3 with my son. I love him to death, but I find it maddening.
  2. The swing just looks off right now, he’s pressing, & his timing is a disaster. IIRC he started off super slow last year. I’m being patient for time being & keeping fingers crossed that swing plays at the highest level and he makes an adjustment/gets his timing back.
  3. Not suggesting they should. He’s played a decent amount of CF and is an option in a pinch.
  4. Replace him with Stowers. Hays & Stowers can play CF in a pinch. Vavra has played CF as well. Cameron in AAA if they need more than a game or two.
  5. Fair. To each his own. If I’m going to spend hundreds of hours building something I’m gonna want to live in it or drive it, not stick it on a shelf. It was a joke, apparently a bad & offensive one at that.
  6. Guys in the minors that are drinking will not make it. Apart from obvious issues alcohol wreaks havoc on tendons & ligaments and will lead to injury.
  7. It was a joke. I prefer ball players that spend their free time in the woods hunting and fishing.
  8. McKenna is not an MLB player. He’s below replacement level & a career .589 OPS. He makes mental and physicals errors in the field. On top of that the karate kid headband thing is just brutal. How he made the team and Franchy didn’t is beyond me. I’m dumbfounded how he still has a job.
  9. He’s got close to 1.8MM in tats.
  10. I dig that my kids love building Legos. I don’t dig that Cowser spends his free time building Legos. Maybe I’m being petty. I consider myself open minded but really?
  11. If you barrel it, they will come.
  12. Got it. So you are simply regurgitating other peoples opinions and have not had a chance to see the players yourself and come to your own conclusion. Noted.
  13. Is that Bill Murray’s “cannonball” from Caddie Shack?
  14. Vavra is faster, runs solid routes and is a gamer. Arm is weaker but accurate. I’d put Vavra in field over Stowers all things considered. Fangraphs has Vavra 50 hit/55speed/50D. Stowers 35hit/50speed/50D FWIW.
  15. How many times have you seen him play? Seen Stowers play?
  16. The CWS video I posted above had Ben in the booth and it sounded like he was quite familiar with Trace and was high on his ability. The fastball in that video shows a lot of late life. He has me excited.
  17. Pretty simple. Vavra can handle the bat and has consistent professional PAs. He’s a better outfielder. Can play multiple positions. What’s so difficult to understand?. I get that chicks dig the long ball but, how on earth do you deem Stowers a better player and a player who can be a full time regular? Only thing I see that Stowers has over Vavra is raw power and his ability to stay on the field. What am I Missing?
  18. Why? He’s outperformed him in MiLB and limited MLB appearances and plays better defense.
  19. They profile very similarly. I think Norbys bat is a touch better. He’s hitting a HR every 18 ABs vs. Westburg every 22. They walk just about the same rate every 7.5 for Norby vs. 8 Westburg. Norby ks every 3.9 AB vs. every 3.5 Westburg. they both have prolific power. They both have speed and steal/are successful at similar rates.
  20. Again. 2 weeks. 162 games. You can call me out and I’ll eat crow if that is still the case in July.
  21. That is the one thing I don’t understand. It seems they should have been able to rotate all those guys and and get everyone PAs and get everyone some rest. It’s very curious why they don’t believe in Stowers. Only thing I can figure is that they are using bat path tech we aren’t privy to, to determine who has best opportunity to square up balls and his graphs, trigger times, distance to balls on misses are worse than other players and they want to tweak that before throwing him to the wolves.
  22. What is odd about stockpiling talent on your 40 man roster and letting things figure themselves out? They have to play 162 games, there will be injuries, there will be slumps. We are two weeks into a 28 week season. The overreactions are just that, overreactions. Things will work themselves out. If we are sitting here at week 20 and it’s the same line-up, Stowers has 50 ABs, and there have been no trades - sure that would be odd. But to say they are are completely screwing up everything at this stage is a gigantic reach. Living in absolutes is never a good thing. Try to be a bit more objective and patient. Remember when you told all of us O’Hearn would be in the lineup everyday because they are paying him 1.4mm and we were all idiots for signing the guy and there was no way he wasn’t getting ABs? How’d that work out? Maybe just maybe they are thinking outside the box and those thoughts don’t align with your preconceived notions? Not a sermon, just a thought.
