  1. Before the season or after the injury? He could very likely have been working on polishing 1 or 2 pitches in side BP sessions that pushed his side session workloads up. Pure Speculation. Just pointing out there are a lot of things that go into as opposed to a blanket pitch count per game.
  2. But you could go to Magic City (prominently featured in quite a few Outkast songs) after the game! New Stadium in Atlanta is nice. Let’s be real clear, though. There is no place in Atlanta that is walkable. It is THE worst example of suburban sprawl in the world.
  3. It’s not really a pitch limit they are managing. They are watching the players acute and chronic workload & where they are in their cycle. What you see on TV is only a small portion of their total workload.
  4. Gunnar has a better arm. Ortiz is the better overall defender.
  5. If he were a solo artist “The 2023 Plan” would be a killer follow up album name.
  6. In the very least it will make a few members heads explode and make for some entertaining threads.
  7. Profar is still out there. Any chance he takes a reasonable one year contract to take advantage of OPACY’s friendly RF wall? The guy still has a few good years ahead of him. One big year could set him up nicely for one final contract. I like his skill set on our roster and gives us additional depth when/if someone gets hurt/traded.
  8. What was his injury again? I do remember a lot of people being high on him after we drafted him. I've never had the chance to see him play.
  9. My Sleepers: Wagner, Fabian, Hernaiz, & Prieto (I think this guy can hit and a couple years of USA training and food will do him a world of good - he's also a little older so might sneak into his man strength this year).
  10. Who do you think has a chance to make the top 100 next year? -Mayo? -Basallo? -Kjrestad? -Povich? -Beavers? Those would be my front runners. Think there are some sleepers left that have a shot with another year of improvement.
  11. Any you'd recommend or that you remember standing out? I remember a Korean BBQ place a few years back that I thought was pretty good. I went to one game last year and one game the previous year. I don't remember seeing anything that caught my eye.
  12. I think that's the last piece of the Elias development plan. Iron sharpens iron. No complacency. He wants the most competition at every point in the system all the way to cracking the lineup, and then staying in the lineup. Frazier is the last hurdle for Ortiz and Westburg. I imagine Westburg and Ortiz have been bustin' it just a tiny bit harder since the Frazier signing. Just a guess.
  13. Injuries. Having an inventory isn't a bad thing. I don't like the Frazier move, but I don't think it's a head scratcher.
  14. I've always wanted them to showcase the local food scene. They need to do something like an open-air cross street market or Lexington market type deal on flag court where you can see the game. Leave it open year round so people can 'shop and hang' at camden yards. They need a legit pit beef stand. They need some Bawlmer slurp -n- burps and some delicious steamed crabs. Oysters and raw bar options would be awesome. It's kind of a shame they go super low end on the food. Could make the OPACY experience that much better. Oh well.
  15. Seriously. Other venues have fantastic food. Baltimore has consistently been garbage. I mean how hard is it to screw up BBQ. Boogs is some for the nastiest meat I’ve ever eaten.
  16. It will be interesting to see the list next year. We have some real talent from 10-20 in our system, a new grouping of international guys, and the 2023 draft. I think they could easily replace the graduates. Hearing all the praise from outside outlets in the development system in Baltimore is beyond exciting.
  17. I think they are more concerned about the system as a whole and positional redundancy than they are Westburg & Ortiz specifically.
  18. Well spoken young man. Seems like he has a good head on his shoulders. Models his game after Manny Machado. Sounds like he runs in the same circles as Luis Vicioso.
  19. Most Overrated: Kremer (Pitcher), Mountcastle (Bat), Mayo (Prospect) Most Underrated: Wells (Pitcher), Urias (Bat), Norby (Prospect)
  20. When he threw that ball over the pond/lake during covid he showed pretty superhuman athletic abilities. I would not say he is "not that athletic" and when his breaking stuff is on, it's filthy.
  21. So what is more beneficial? 1- ABs vs. minor leaguers on a back field in FLA -or- 2- ABs vs. the worlds elite broadcasted on network television? These guys aren’t dumb and hire lawyer strategists (agents) to help them make the best decisions for their particular circumstance.
  22. Do you think he’s been working on tunneling his pitches?
  23. Free advertising/marketing is NEVER a bad thing. He’s gonna be an MLBer this year on the Os or somewhere else. As long as he tweaked his prep work to adjust for the tournament dates, and as a professional athlete it’d be hard not to believe he did, there are nothing but positives for him to participate. #forglory
