Just so we are clear are you talking about the Dylan Bundy that made 29MM by age 30 & Tiger Woods who is worth 1.3BB? Like, He should have won more tournaments and would have been more successful if he played hockey or something? The multi sport things is good for some and not for others. Like everything in life there is nuance and there is not one recipe for success. Some players benefit from focus on one while others benefit from focus on multiple sports.

If Gunnar finishes the season at 11+WAR he will be in a group with 12 other players that include Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Barry Bonds, Willie Mays, Ty Cobb, Rogers Hornsby, Stan Musial, Carl Yaz, Cal Ripken, Honus Wagner, Lou Gehrig, and Joe Morgan. Unless he gets hurt there is 0% chance they move him away from where he’s had that success.

It would be nice to get updates on their height & weight. Even if it’s just once a year. He looks like a strong kid. Still has a few more years to grow.

I’m a fan of his skill set. Obviously has the hit tool, has power, and flies. I love the hockey background. It’s been my experience hockey players do well in baseball. Above avg strength, hand eye coordination, and the natural decel movement of the wrist shot is identical to a baseball swing.

I came here to say all this. He’s got a TON of calls this year. So many that he’s likely expecting more. He’s doing nothing to embarrass himself and obviously the little complaint isn’t hurting anything. He’s competing and I love the controlled emotion. WHO CARES! Celebrate the man and try to enjoy one of the best single season performances you’ll ever see.

I was really hoping he’d show out this year. I’m glad to see him mashing. Good for the team now and good for the team in ten future. No such thing as a bad one year contract, give the man a QO and get pick or get one more year of Tony. Seems like a no brainer at this point.
