My younger self would have been up in arms about this. But, I really couldn’t care less now. Will we ever find out how much they make off this?

For sure. I don’t deny that.

If I had to guess it’s because Adley didn’t need the rest in April. They need to work together a little bit, Adley will be catching him in the playoffs.

I still think they go with McCann on days Burnes pitches because they figure they will need slightly fewer runs to win vs. the other guys on the staff. IE use the best/most consistent pitcher’s outings as a chance to rest your guys and still have a good chance to win. If you throw Kremer and his 4.32 era you’re gonna need a stronger lineup to score some runs.

He’s also got a .745 OPS against and a 5.74 BB/9. I like the guy but have absolutely no appetite to see him pitch in a pressure situation down the stretch or in the playoffs. I’d be happy to see him in a very low leverage situation, but he is not the answer to our bullpen issues.

I think HK is the one guy the O's would be OK including in a trade. I think Mayo is the guy people will want. If we are really going to get a huge upgrade, we are going to have to part with one of our big 3. Of those guys, I think Mayo is the one they'd reluctantly move. I could see a scenario where HK & Mayo aren't on the roster at the end of the season. In that scenario Santander in RF on a one year deal next year wouldn't be awful. If Elias can upgrade the team in a very meaningful way and not trade one of our big 3, I'll be very pleasantly surprised. I don't know if a HK + Povich + third tertiary piece is enough to get us what we want/need.

Interesting. Thanks for pointing that out. I think with only 8ip so far this year it's a little too hard to tell for certain. That's his 3rd worst inning (1st being the worst & 4th being the second worst). He's only logged 1ip in the 7th. The eye test tells me he struggles in 6th and is often working on empty. It will be interesting to see how these numbers change throughout the remainder of the year. For sure, he isn't throwing up stinkers in the 6th, it just looks like he's laboring and competing his butt off to get through. I expect he improves moving forward.

The way I see it, everyone should be rooting, hoping & praying for a standout walk year. I'm still holding out hope he goes off, has a career year, and nets us another pick. I think HK is the one who gets traded this year and that leaves a hole in RF for next year. Even if he accepted, I wouldn't be too upset with a 1-year deal. He likely outperforms all the other potential RF candidates not named Mayo (assuming Mayo gets time this year to take his lumps).
