  1. I considered starting a thread, but wanted to ask this question. Assuming all of Hays/Santander/Diaz become big leaguers of quality, who would play where? All three seem to be fringe CF, maybe debatably league average, but all seem to have above average bats for CF, and potentially average to below average bats for RF/LF. Does it matter in the long run or since one is next to the other, an above average fielding LF/RF could potentially make up for a average/below average CF.
  2. Anyone see what Corban Joseph is doing at AAA and now he's getting his cup of coffee in the bigs? May have been a fun asset, even though old, to keep this squad together here for minimum salary.
  3. Was this previously reported that the O's will be paying the $2.5 million in bonuses to Cashner? So the Red Sox are only paying him $1.6 mil for the remainder of the season. I think the fact that we got true lottery tickets and not even a top 20/30 guy in the Sox org is interesting given that we're giving up the money as well
  4. The talk is that at 3rd base, you move in an X, back left/back right/forward left/forward right. At SS, you have to move more laterally, and make longer runs for a ball, rather than reactionary movements. So a fuller frame, while maybe able to react the same, you may not be as "fast" once you fill out that is needed for the SS postion
  5. Yea but remember when Broxton was being talked about like this after his rookie season: https://blogs.fangraphs.com/how-keon-broxton-looks-like-the-brewers-best-player/ Crazy high exit velocities, plays center like Cain, hits like Chris Carter (lots of hard hits lots of Ks), oh yea, and he can run. The tools are there, though he's now older. Let's see what plays. No harm in this one.
  6. Think now would be a logical time to try to lock him up with an extension?
  7. So did Seth Smith....as a RF, and we all know how that played out in Baltimore. Even though we thought he'd help, most didn't want him by mid season and neither did the Mariners.
  8. Kinda, and maybe to start the game. But what if you had Davis play 1B, and Mancini (just picking a name) DH. Then moved Manicini to first, therefore forefitting the DH. Davis only has to field the first half inning, and then he comes out. There's always a loophole.
