  1. He was a terrible signing, but at this point, how can you not hope he puts up an .832 OPS? It would be hilarious.
  2. I thought he was a loser before the allegations, and I'd rather the Orioles not enter a Josh Lueke-esque situation by signing him. That being said, purely based off schadenfreude, I am curious regarding reports of him being bad at baseball.
  3. Not doubting you, but out of sheer curiosity, where have you heard these rumors?
  4. Apologies. I meant to say, "I don't trust non-admin adults who fly drones."
  5. The last time we signed Rich Hill, I head the news on the radio right as I turned onto Rich Hill Road in Towson. Sorry I didn't find a Justin Verlander Avenue earlier this offseason.
  6. As someone who enjoys reading takes, it would also spawn many a good take.
  7. The funniest possible outcome at this point is if we signed Rodon out of the blue on some absurd contract.
  8. Most offseason rumors from even the most trusted sources are either wrong or bluffs from teams/agents. I think we should be careful about posting claims from sub-10k follower, anonymous accounts with no track record named "Mr. Beisbol von Hotstove" and the like. That is, unless they're saying we're offering a MOO bat a WOW offer at the halftime of a Ravens game.
  9. Just shy of 31,000 last night. Looked and sounded great on TV too. The Frobby/Sports Guy Difference™
  10. Beyond the dub, it's great to see a few guys break out of their slumps.
  11. I would pay a large sum of money to hear Palmer ask Elias, "So, Mike, what's the deal with starting this bum?"
  12. You're not wrong! And, again, I'm not saying the debate itself has no merit. However, I just can't help but laugh about the intensity of said debate. But, that's also why I love this place. * smashes the refresh button *
  13. I think Henderson will be very good, and I would be happy to have him locked up long term, but this is such a funny debate to be having so vociferously after his first three major league games.
  14. I was at Manny's first game, which was awesome. He'll always be a favorite player of mine. That being said, Henderson's approach at the plate is eons better than Machado's was when was first called up.
  15. Nothing is certain when it comes to pitchers, but I believe at least one of Kremer/Bradish/Wells will be a strong starter on the next Orioles playoff team (2022 excluded, fingers crossed). That being said, I doubt any of them ever receives a Cy Young vote
  16. Beyond travel, as I noted above, a lot individuals/families have smaller entertainment budgets due to the current economic environment. For a holiday weekend, I'm sure that budget was allocated well-before anyone knew the Orioles would be worth watching in September.
  17. I don't think this is a thread about shaming people that do or don't go to games. I think it's just interesting to track attendance in general—especially since this team was expected to be very poor and is, instead, in a pennant race.
  18. Curious how much it being a travel day for the last holiday weekend in summer factors into that.
  19. Mataeo talking about his approach in that last AB shows a guy with a plan at the plate.
  20. Henderson is our best second baseman, our best third baseman, and might be our best shortstop.
