  1. Millwood's two significant seasons were : 1999 third in Cy Young voting, second in ERA 2005 sixth in Cy Young voting, first in ERA
  2. I get up at 5 A.M. and have since I was 12 years of age. On a dairy farm, cows do not carry clocks around with them. Currently I need to be at work at 6:30 AM, hence the early rise that has been instilled in my system as a youth. I have seen many a worker dimissed because they want Banker Hours. Go work at a bank if you need to Sleep In.
  3. Says someone that is not on record for their true thoughts. Not a bookie so I don't give ODDS Serious things can happen.
  4. As it stands TODAY Rutschman is supposed to be the Number One Pick. The June Draft is June 03, a lot can happen to make him fall out of that number one spot. You have your injuries, youth stupidity, accidents and incidents that seem to follow humans around. This eleven page thread would be better served on Memorial Day.IMO
  5. Blier, Cobb and Karns are all on the IL. If/When they are ready to be activated may be the time to make a Straily move.
  6. Anytime you get "Lumped In" with Atomic would give me a cause for concern. So Yes, you are on record as changing your vote with me.
  7. Who needs him? How much is he worth to them? How many other pitchers of equal or higher value are available? Just so many questions to be answered before a value can be placed on him and his contract.
  8. I think that if he was with a team such as Tampa, he would be an opener. With the Orioles and the lack of using an opener, he would be best suited as Finish the fifth inning and maybe pitch the sixth as a middle man.
  9. His first 25 pitches and the firrst time through the order is when David Hess is at his best. Would that not scream "OPENER".
  10. I was more or less suggesting/speculating that "IF" he does stay down there is this added side bar. I get it that there has been very little on this site that you can scrutinize so I will post some stuff to allow you to get your shorts in a bunch over.
  11. If he is held in the Minors until July I think it moves the arrow towards Free Agency until 2026 instead of 2025 and Arb Eligibility to 2023 instead of 2022
  12. Kim, Reimold, Trumbo (Pearce) comes to mind from 2016
  13. cheap veteran or two, just spends money and doesnt really improve the product on the field, let the youth come up and see what they have. IMO The end goal to build a long time solid contender. I would also add that when adding a " cheap veteran or two" they would be holding down both 25 and 40 man roster spots without having the ability of using optional assignments. Basically those moves of signing FA (even on the cheap) clogs the roster, removes the likely hood of player movement, removes the ability to sign waiver claims, blocks upward movement throughout the Organization for those that garner advancement while placing the needed AAAA players in jeopardy of being released. This is in addition to what Redskin Rick said. IMO
  14. Don't they have a Google App. for that.
  15. One has already hit their ceiling while the other may have plenty of improvement remaining.
  16. Trade Value of any player has to do with SUPPLY and DEMAND. When three or four teams are in need of a particular type player and there is only one or two available, the price is way higher than if three or four players of equal value are being sought by one team the buyer can name the terms. Having said that, where does Mancini fall within the confines of available players with the same skill set and years of control??? Also who is looking for that type of player??? As fans, we seem to set a higher value on your own players. BIG MISTAKE.
  17. I am basing it on the fact that he does not get back to his form prior to September 2018. I do not think if he remains the same as September 2018 to now that he would not clear waivers. All Forty Man Spots are precious and He may be taking up one of need later on. Now if they can get rid of Trumbo, Wright, Givens, Rickard and Villar that changes things.
  18. I could see Cedric Mullins DFA'd later in the year to make room on the Forty for Diaz.
  19. What is often misplaced this time of year when someone is below the "Mendoza Line" is how a couple of 4 for 5 and a walk raises the slash line considerably. Because of one game Flash II went from : .149/.231/.277/.507 to .212/.293/.385/.678
  20. And I would add that most have not accumulated 50 PA's yet. SSS Slash Line for Norfolk thru 10 games.197.269.307.576
  21. Very few One Year $800,000 contracts are worthless. Basically a throw away deal.
  22. Players with more than three years of Major League service time or who have been previously outrighted may reject the outright assignment in favor of free agency. Chris Davis has 9.061 service time AND is a SCOTT BORIS client.
  23. Yankee stadium has less ground to cover in RF than LF
  24. I went with 66 to 70 because I am an OPTIMIST. Just not OPTIMISTIC ENOUGH to go above that.
