He’s a left handed hitting McKenna and I’m sure they’ll plug and play them both. Diaz will go back down and get regular at bats.
-
Ieft handed bat defensive replacement who provides depth in case injury to prevent from having to start Stowers service clock this year.

Doesn't look like the same pitcher as what we were watching earlier in the season. Is he tipping his pitches? Is there something mechanically he's doing different? Any guesses on what issue is?
-
This must be the buying Elias was referring to when he said we'd be both buyers and sellers.
-
Love Hall. His stuff is electric. I know everyone looks at him as a future starter, but I think he might end of being a future all star set up man or closer. He strikes me as having the kind of make up you want out of a guy in the pen late in games.

I'd be happy to see Mullins and Santander both get moved. Let's go!

Jorge Lopez traded to Twins for pitching prospects (edit)

Never heard of any of these guys. I do like adding 4 pitchers to the organization. Our weakest area of our farm system is pitching and this trades makes it a little better today. I’ll trust Elias and his staff. -
My gut feeling is that we hold onto Santander and Stowers gets dealt in a pkg with either Lopez or Tate and a fringe prospect for a respectable Starting pitcher that can help the club this year.

How is Henderson’s defense at SS? Does he look like a natural there, does he make it look easy? Does he make the difficult plays with occasional spectacular or is he just consist make the routine plays type of defender?
-
I'd move Urias as part of a package with a bullpen arm. Mateo's speed, defense and ability to still bases will come in handy off the bench in close games.
-
I would imagine with his athleticism, speed and arm he would play a pretty solid cf? Does anyone know if he's ever played there? If the plan is to move Henderson to 3rd and Westberg to 2nd Mateo could then be the everyday ss at least until Holliday is closer, but if not it would be nice to have him as a utility guy. With his speed, defense and charisma he would be quite valuable.

Is Mateo more valuable to trade right now or hold onto?

Two moves I hope Elias makes for the 2nd Half

How much if any will the new roy draft pic compensation impact Henderson being called up? What’s the date he could be called up this year and still be eligible for roy next year? -
2022 Draft Tracker
jrobb21613 replied to Tony-OH's topic in O's Amateur Draft and International Signings
Should start to see a run on pitchers a lot of good value there. -
I like Blackburn. He shouldn’t cost much. My concern with him is how much will he help this year he’s already threw a career high 91 innings.
-
So he has his height and the fact he’ll more than likely have to move to 2nd base going against him. He has arguably the best hit tool in the draft and his intangibles baseball IQ are off the chart. Which ones outweigh the other? There’s not a guy in this draft without some question marks. Jones trouble pulling the ball, Green swing and miss. I personally think this is a horrible year to be picking 1-1. I’m not saying I want Johnson to be the pick but that if he is after what I’ve watched of him play and in interviews I’d be excited to have him a part of this organization just as I would be for Green, Collier and Jones. There are a lot of great stories in pro sports about guys who were told they wouldn’t make it because of their size. Ray Lewis for example was told he was to small. Some guys just have a great make up, great work ethic and they don’t buy into that criticism and instead use it as motivation.

Paul Blackburn is having a solid year with the last place A’s era 3.36 so9 7.2 BB9 2.3. He’s arbitration eligible next year and a free agent in 2026. The A’s from what I read are willing to move him. What do you think we would have to give up?
