  1. I don't think they will get much of a return but they should be able to get out from at least some of the contract.
  2. More jobs out there for pitchers than hitters so the success rate (if we are measuring success as making the majors) is going to be higher. I also don't think half of pitchers wash out due to injury.
  3. Didn't notice the post. However upon looking at his post I don't see where he says the O's will be a farm system for bigger markets.
  4. It is effectively a new ownership group in place. We don't know how they will proceed.
  5. I could see a team taking a flier on Cobb if the O's foot a good bit of his contract.
  6. And the Red Sox lost EdRod (Not sure they see themselves as a contender) and the Angels lost Ohtani.
  7. Because their owner really wants a ring. Also Trout.
  8. It seemed odd to me that he didn't.
  9. I'm assuming that the person in question is talking about signing him after his period of team control is over. That would make him 30 (+) when the deal starts.
  10. It depends. If they play the full 60 game schedule (at least most teams) I think they just use 2020. If the season gets stopped I think they use a combination of 2019 and 2020. I do not think they will use a lottery, if they do I expect it to be rigged.
  11. Elias read my criticism of the Bundy trade so he's trying to make it look better by putting Bradish on the 60 man.
  12. Boston picked him up to eat a few starts until their guys got healthy and they were going to move him to the pen. They didn't pick him up to start long term or pitch a lot of high leverage innings.
  13. I was assuming they meant after the period of team control is over. I see no reason why they won't tender him a contract for next season.
  14. I'm not interested in signing 30+ middle infielders to long term deals.
  15. On the bright side we can start calling Maddon an old school manager now.
  16. He'd not even thrown a single inning since 2018. Maddon thought he was well rested.
  17. Or you think the Oriole fanbase will somehow garner you massive clickage???
  18. Since I agree that Sisco is a poor defensive catcher it goes to reason if I were talking about posters making egregious claims (whining) that those posters were going past simply acknowledging his play as poor. No goalposts were moved.
