They aren't dumping either of them this year. You think that Elias is worried enough about it to spend resources on it. They are both on the young side and cheap. Whomever they bring in off a waiver wire might very well be worse.

Sure? But what evidence do you have that they need to improve their defense? I think folks here simply prefer a defense first backup catcher. Doesn't mean Elias is going to expend resources to procure one when he already has Severino and Sisco in the fold.

I can't think of a performance based reason he wouldn't be promoted. Certainly no one at Norfolk blocking him.
