  1. The video is up. It's inaugural Mets level. Here is the Mets story, in case anyone doesn't know it.
  2. I bet the strikezone will suddenly grow in a couple innings.
  3. Reminds me of the story of the collision in the Mets first season.
  4. The way I look at it, you have 20 guys on the White Sox that get a chance to be a ML baseball player that if the White Sox didn't exist, would have never received that opportunity. They can tell their grandkids they were on a record breaking MLB team when they were young.
  5. You saying he's a lost cause?
  6. Might as well send Mayo to see if he can learn to play first.
  7. To me the best part is that Elias admits they don't have evidence that their approach reduces injury.
  8. Mountcastle still isn't able to swing a bat, so why did they delay putting him on the IL?
  9. Often the most effective approach isn't the most enjoyable to watch. Boxing comes to mind.
  10. Does it mater that he allowed three HR in his playoff start last year?
  11. They might not have a choice, they might be still trying to win games right up until the end.
  12. Moose is a fan of the Gary Cherone era.
  13. Do you want a slow as molasses, fragile DH who is a singles hitter? I don't, even if he hits 280.
  14. 2- There is never a situation for the offense where a big dong is a bad thing. If you can barrel the ball and elevate it you will be able to hit sac flies. Players shouldn't be bunting anyway. I'd honestly rather have my guys swing away with 2 strikes instead of trying to poke at the ball and make contact. I think over the course of a season you will get more value. 3- The same approach that 90% of the league is using? Sure. My team's offensive brain trust should be able to deal with that gameplanning, that's why they are there.
  15. I'm going to disagree with you and I think a lot of current players and management will agree with me. A HR is a LOT more valuable than a line drive up the middle for a single. Of course I'm not specifically talking about "swinging for a homerun" as if you were in a HR derby but I'm sure you realize that.
  16. I think we have been spoiled with the quality of the rookies in the league the past few years. His numbers probably aren't that bad compared to the average RoY winner.
  17. I just checked and Slater's middle name is Thomas. What a missed opportunity.
