  1. That wasn't my scenario you know...
  2. We can play at what "very likely" means but I'll just say I'd rather have a pitcher that put up a 6 win season in my playoff rotation than Kremer.
  3. I strongly disagree, if you get 12 wins out of Cease you are very likely going to the playoffs both years with pretty decent odds of doing well once you get there. That is the goal right? Sometimes I'm not so sure everyone here thinks so.
  4. I'm not saying I do either, just that would be the rational. If the O's looked at Cease and thought they could get him back to that level.
  5. If you think Cease will rebound it makes more sense. That would be a significant upgrade.
  6. So, you don't like watching him play. Cosmetic. You are of course entitled to that opinion but I don't think it is a problem with Mountcastle.
  7. Because the established market value of a product is clearly an 100% overpay.
  8. Someone has probably looked into this already but does a guy that is hot/cold/hot/cold produce less value than someone who has a consistent level of performance? If not than your issue with Mountcastle is cosmetic.
  9. Huh? Frobby said something has a 100% certainty, I disagreed. Cease potentially getting injured has nothing to do with that. As for non injury issues? You could even see a freak issue like what happened with Rick Ankiel pop up. Is it likely? Of course not, could it happen? Sure. So no 100% certainty.
  10. Sure. What does that have to do with what I said?
  11. It's more complicated than that. Kremer might not even be in the league in three years.
  12. Because you think Cease would be an upgrade over Kremer. This isn't a move to build depth.
  13. I was thinking of him as I was typing.
  14. I can see a scenario in which they wait until the season starts and he gets hurt or is ineffectual and they end up with pennies on the dollar.
  15. Right.... I spent a very small amount of time looking into a statistic you referenced and politely asked for your source since the information you gave was different than what I found. You then decided to ask me to find a quote which I'm sure wasn't a gotcha move in retaliation to my post which would have necessitated doing substantially more work. You are correct that I have turned down requests of this nature before. I suppose I should start bookmarking links to Elias quotes. I haven't refused to source statistics.
  16. I asked because I had found contradictory data. I had time to do a 15 second google search.
  17. Right, I was responding to Frobby not to your request. That was why I quoted him. I wasn't fulfilling your request. You feeling OK?
  18. I'm not looking for it since I don't care enough to but I recall last offseason a comment being made about him being surprised at the price of FA pitching.
  19. I don't think that's all that likely. I think it is more the folks that think everyone in the minors is a sure fire MLB starter that will squawk about the price. That being said if the White Sox are being unreasonable in their request you look at other options.
  20. I don't care about all of this nearly as much as you think I do. I just noticed that you went and edited in something after the page change.
