  1. It's January fluff. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/what-could-keep-gunnar-henderson-and-bobby-witt-jr-from-making-the-hall-of-fame/
  2. His career high (ML) in starts is 27 and innings is 155. I don't think it would be sensible to assume he'd surpass those numbers in 2024.
  3. Also Cease hasn't had any injury issues.
  4. They want attention. Folks have done far dumber. Have you heard about the multiple leaks of classified information because of an online tank fighting game?
  5. The shop down the street turned down $2,000,000,000 for their car, so I'm going to say the one that needs the seat reupholstered. That car also has the Strasburg deal on the books. https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2023/04/19/ted-leonsis-washington-nationals/
  6. Tests exist to determine how much further growth is likely. I don't think the Yankees spent 5.1M without having them done.
  7. He's short, he isn't small.
  8. They are texting like 90 times an hour, it's, you know, really annoying and kinda creepy.
  9. Oh sorry didn't get the joke. Appreciate the effort.
  10. No, you obviously didn't understand the point. For your version to work the team would have to have billions in contracts. No one is advocating that.
  11. That's what we get for letting Holt go back to the minors.
  12. I didn't get offended. I just think it's a very poor take to think that additional payroll is in any way going to materially impact the sale of the team. It's like you want to buy a super rare car, one of 30 in existence, sure to appreciate in value. Only one of them is for sale at a time and years go by before one is put on the market. Are you not going to buy your dream car because the seat needs to be reupholstered?
  13. If that 50M is being spent on Chris Davis yes. If that money went to a player that was helping the team, very possibly not. No one is going to back out of billion plus deal over 3/50. If the O's signed Adley or Gunnar to a long term deal might that not make the team more enticing to a buyer?
  14. Yea they will analyze it, and it will be negligible amount that won't have any impact on a deal being struck. The Royals sold for a billion in 2019. Even without MASN the O's would go for more. You think an additional 50M in obligations spread over 3 years is going to matter?
  15. Someone spending a billion plus for the team isn't going to care about a bit of extra payroll.
  16. How did this work out for the Brave? Oops that a meme version but the point still stands and I'm leaving it up.
  17. And that can happen at any time. Heck maybe the best offer he was going to get is already off the table?
  18. What are you talking about? Last year from June- August his OPS spread was only 124 points. That's a pretty tight spread.
  19. And when they are cutting payroll.
  20. Who? Who forgets? No one would forget even if you didn't remind us constantly. This was not a 101 true talent club. Even if it was you should be striving to improve.
  21. Seems like a random throw in to "even up the deal".
  22. Not sure why they added 2B Yiddi Cappe to the deal. He's a talented pitcher, he'd help the team. Not sure Elias is willing to give up Cowser.
