  1. It's OK, he only would have been with the O's for like five seasons, tops.
  2. So that top 5 finish in the Cy Young voting didn't phase you?
  3. No because you have said things like how he'll be a failure of a pick ect ect. This conversation is not based solely off the premise that he excells at hitting.
  4. You are right, I should have added that to my post. Thanks! I know you should know this but you have to be able to get on base to steal bases (unless Severino is catching). I wonder what the fewest times on base for a 50 steal season is?
  5. Fuji was enticing because he was cheap to acquire.
  6. So he dropped because of concerns about his bat but he's going to get on base enough to be a likely 50+ stolen base guy.
  7. If he is very likely a GG contender from day 1 AND likely steals 50+ bases how the heck did he drop to 17th? Stolen bases is a bit weird to look at because of the recent changes to the game but three players stole 50 bases last year. So you think he is likely to be a top 5 guy in that category in his first year?
  8. I'd rather if they went with "Aioli!" when he hit a dong.
  9. You could move one of the two of them in left. You've got LF/CF/RF and DH to move guys around in. Heck you can add 1B to the mix. I'd also like to add that the idea of Mullins putting up a 6 Win season is right on the edge of the realm of possibility.
  10. Good question and I'm going to dodge it because I don't feel like doing the work to answer it. I can't think of any team leaving a guy that could be a 3+ Win player in the minors.
  11. 34.5% of 17th overall picks don't even make the majors.
  12. Folks have weirdly high standards for prospects.
  13. Sure, and if he's "that guy" they are going to manage one of those assets out of town to make room for him. Leaving him in the minors isn't getting you the most value.
  14. First off we are talking about RoY manipulation, there is a gap between RoY winner and failed prospect. Honestly if he ends up being a fourth outfielder/defensive specialist in the majors than he hasn't "failed". Folks have weirdly high standards for prospects.
  15. I'm not a fan of them either but with his glove if he is "tearing it up" he needs to be in the majors. Trent Grisham had a 666 OPS for a 87 OPS+ last year and was still worth 2 Wins because of his glove. Pair that with an above average bat and his stolen base potential? You don't leave that at Norfolk.
  16. If a plus centerfielder is tearing it up you find room for him. You aren't going to have four guys that are more valuable taking spots.
  17. Do I need to remote into your PC and fix your repeating post issue?
  18. Assuming they get a bit of a boost from the Korean market he's only has to produce at a 2 win rate for the deal to break even. He's under contract for his age 25-30 seasons. A plus defense Center Fielder that makes a lot of contact and can run should be able to manage that.
  19. I don't think he has to hit a ton to be worth the deal. FWIW Fangraphs is projecting him at 3 WAR for 2024 and I think they are underselling his stolen bases (they have him at 6 for 9).
  20. Why should the media favor the Yankees? They've had two RoY since 1982. For the record the Mariners have had five. Did you think Judge wasn't a worthy selection? What about Jeter in '96? This fascination with the Yankees is just nonsense.
