  1. Never, catch him into the ground and let someone else pay for his decline.
  2. All a year is going to tell you is if he can hit AA pitching.
  3. I don't think the Tatis deal in any way shape or form impacts what the O's will do with Adley.
  4. I think that the deal will look better after the next CBA is finalized.
  5. I'll give the owner props for being bold. If you are going to give someone this kind of contract a 22 year old averaging 7 rWAR/143 games is a good choice.
  6. We know who the Onion wasn't talking about. ?
  7. I don't think he will hit enough to hold down a starting job.
  8. If you get the fact that he has more value than I don't understand why you don't get the rest of it. If at all possible you play him where he has the most value. If the O's get players that can provide more value than he can in left and first than he will provide more value at DH, in which case he should play DH. I also don't think we've seen near enough to declare the kid a DH. The advantage in defense in left field at OPACY isn't that compelling an argument that we should run someone like Mullins out there. How many plays are the guys you mentioned going to make that Mountcastle won't?
  9. I'm looking forward to hearing certain people complain about Jones' defense at second.

  11. O's response on Twitter was total weak sauce. They need to hire the peep from Wendys.
  12. The funniest part of the Onion bit was when they called Mountcastle a shortstop.
  13. I think a few pitchers have actual issues and that skews folks perception. I also think SSS bites some guys in the backside and after a bit of bad luck they are deemed incapable of handling the pressure and moved out of the role.
  14. Is a "lot" a majority? Are you saying a majority of relievers perform worse in the 9th? Can you provide evidence supporting that claim?
  15. So 90% of teams are willing to pay a premium price for a "closer" in trades? Is that what you are telling me?
  16. ? The only reason they should consider developing a closer is if they think they can con another team into trading more for him due to his role. Are any teams that dumb?
  17. Elias has already written off this upcoming season. I'd say the chances of Rodriguez or Hall hitting the majors this year are roughly equivalent to the O's chances of making the playoffs.
  18. Nice subtle shot at Brady's arm there. And I agree with your point. It's left field.
