I don’t understand drafting for need rather than drafting the best player available. If drafting the best player creates a surplus is one position, then make a trade.

Nats should definitely trade Scherzer. They can start rebuilding their farm with the haul he’d bring, even as a rental. Their window is closing fast and they could end up in the situation the O’s were in the early 2000s if they aren’t careful.
