  1. Good for Hyde. Who gives a cr*p if Ray's feelings are hurt by Hyde chirping at him? In a world where you don't get to see this type of thing too often, this is refreshing.
  2. Eh. 80% Lew Ford's fault, 20% Andy McPhail's.
  3. LOL. The last one is soooo bad.
  4. Yup, agreed. But I was just so frustrated... and it had been a terrible zone all night really.
  5. He's been hitting really well lately actually... he is what he is. Mashes lefties, in his best season he ight give you an OPS approaching .800.
  6. The home plate umpire was just awful. Pathetic. They need to start holding umpires accountable. There were bad calls all night (and pitches from Orioles that should have been called strikes that weren't), but the Mullins one took the cake. I was surprised/disappointed Hyde didn't go out and get tossed.
  7. Great post. I have no qualms with his play so far.
  8. That's true and correct, but I'd like to think they will have the building blocks in place for next year as to who will/should be on the next playoff team, and those guys getting regular at bats. Granted, even if Grayson comes up, the pitching still leaves a lot to be desired. A fourth year of being awful, not just under .500 awful, but this level of awful, would be hard to stomach and really does not seem necessary given the progress of the rebuild.
  9. LOL. I love this because it's so true. Really excited about Mountcastle. Amazing that he is over .800 after the horrible start.
  10. Yup, unfortunately. I've been saying this since the beginning, as have you. The team doesn't have to constantly suck after the first say, 2 years of the rebuild. And they should be looking at all ways to improve the team, not just via the draft and trading veterans for prospects. As I posted in the Glasnow thread, you have to be creative.
  11. If the Orioles are still 2-3 years away from competing, then they have done something wrong in my opinion. Next year, and certainly 2023, they should be competing for a wild card if they are doing this thing correctly.
  12. C'mon. We both know that good, contending teams cannot be entirely built from a farm system. The Orioles will need to make trades on potential buy low options if it involves a good player. Glasnow, even with the injury is indisputably a good player.
  13. Up to .795. Dare I say he could end the year with an OPS over .800? That would be extremely impressive, and not on my 2021 Orioles bingo card.
  14. I mean, we don't really know what Urias is. But a .785 OPS over 213 at bats and 1.4 WAR isn't necessarily below average is it?
  15. https://www.fangraphs.com/warleaders.aspx?season=2021&team=2
  16. Fangraphs has Stewart at 0.4 WAR and McKenna at 0.00. Stewart looks silly out there sometimes, but he is a much better offensive player than McKenna.
  17. Agreed. We all love Mancini, and he's the man, but baseball-wise, he's an .775-.825 OPS guy with poor defense, no speed, and no real position. And he has one year remaining before he hits free agency. Hate to say it, but his skill set is kind of a dime a dozen in MLB.
  18. In the case of Stewart, though, I disagree that a random guy from the farm could do as well as him.
  19. Good points on both Lowther and Kremer. I really hope Kremer can turn it around.
  20. and he got rocked. The Kremer situation this year is extremely concerning, not just for him, but from a standpoint of players falling off a cliff with this team (see also Zac Lowther)
  21. well, that's from 2007. That being said, I do not give any Angelos a single benefit of the doubt for not meddling and screwing things up.
  22. Yup, great to see. He has been one of my favorite players since 2019. At the end of the day, I would still trade him, but he obviously needs to perform well for it to be worthwhile to deal him.
