  1. Good times! Peace 21 had some info at times, though I don't remember if it was legit. I do think he broke the Tejada to Astros trade. I recall Belkast having news about the O's being interested in someone (Nomar to play first?) but he first had to change diapers and would get back to us later. The board was really funny that night. "Change those diapers, Belkast!"
  2. Not looking good. Oh well, was fun while it lasted. GOD I HATE MLB.
  3. This is where I'm at. Not expecting anything either, but it's fun to talk about. And agreed on Glenn Clark.
  4. As a baseball fan who wants to have fun summers watching the Orioles, I love it. Get it done. But as a realist, I know there are risks involved. But with so little money committed over the next several years, I say why not?
  5. With that said, the Lyles signing (which I did not like) was surprising and showed, perhaps, a willingness to spend. It was bizarre, and I think you could have gotten someone for much cheaper, but that was the largest FA contract this team has given out since... Gallardo?
  6. I think some people genuinely expect the next contending team, 1-9, to be all homegrown players. Nice idea in theory, but no realistic.
  7. Eh, I think it should be on talent. Whether it is offense or pitching, spend the money on talented players. Correa qualifies.
  8. It's like the Padres signing Machado just as their window was opening. It makes sense, but is not something I expect the risk averse (risk terrified) Orioles to do.
  9. Oh, I'm not lol. But it beats talking about how awful Manfred is and how depressing the state of baseball is right now.
  10. Agreed on all of this. All about bringing in as much talent as possible. If you can also bring in more talent by trading Mancini/Mullins/Santander, it still aligns with a potential winning window if CC is here for ten years and you have Adley, Grayson, etc.
  11. Agreed. Don't love the cheater backstory, but at his age and talent, I'd happily take him as our SS for the next 10 years.
  12. Still probably not, but some interesting chatter in the last hour about him and the Orioles. Hurting the credibility is that Dan Clark Sports retweeted it.
  13. To me, it's as simple as you have Mancini for one more non-competitive year, or you can get potential guys who may play some, albeit small, role on the team who would be under team control for a while. We aren't winning this year, and there is no benefit whatsoever to Mancini being on the team. Three guys with six years of control who could turn into something >>> one meaningless year of Mancini.
  14. Agreed. It was definitely time for him to go in Baltimore after 2018, but he and Davey Johnson were easily the two best managers they have had in my lifetime. Created many great gifs too.
  15. Glad to see he gets another shot to manage. This will give me reason to root for the Mets this year. Hopefully he doesn't have to manage a Wild Card game in extra innings. ?
  16. Well, definitely not since the Chris Davis incident. And they signed Davis because he was a "fan favorite" and PA loved him. Most of us knew it was idiotic before the ink dried.
  17. The problem is, the Orioles would never spend $15M on a player, because they are the Orioles.
  18. Absolutely. The Orioles should consider anything and everything to make the team better. I highly doubt, however, that Elias has permission from the penny pinchers up top to make this type of move, even though it could potentially bring in a good prospect or two.
  19. I hope he can get the OBP up to at least the .330 level, but that might be asking too much. OPS over .800 would be sufficient.
  20. Agreed. Not the greatest K Rates, but definitely someone worth keeping around based on the lack of depth and options on the rotation.
  21. Not bad. Here's mine: CF Mullins 2B Urias 1B Mountcastle RF Santander DH Mancini C Adley LF Hays 3B Odor SS Mateo
  22. LOL. I wait all YEAR for the final day of the Winter Meetings!
  23. This must be the most difficult part of the lockout for the Orioles... Poor guys.
