There was no more frenzied and hyped anticipation than when Matt Wieters was a prospect. Doesn’t matter what Adley looks like, it only matters what he does and thus far he has produced less in the minors than Matt did. Is he going to be a perennial AllStar with a HOF career? Pretty unlikely given the odds against. I will be very, very happy with a Joe Mauer or Buster Posey career production but it is not a given. Nothing in life is.

“Pitching at the top of a playoff rotation sometime soon?” It would be helpful first to have at least one other guy that can pitch. Lol

Agreed...for me, us getting rid of cable has meant no MASN, and I am in a blackout area so no MLB TV either. But frankly I have not missed watching this season at all

Avila was hired in summer 2015 ...Elias was hired in Mid Nov 2018 Elias had essentially no ability to impact in the initial 2018 offseason compared to someone coming on in summer like Avila did so basically Avila has had 6 offseasons and Elias has had two with one of them being COVID No comparison imho. If we get to end of 2023 season still in last place then yes.

It is a “mathematical algorithm” that claims it is a “projection” but it’s “mathematical algorithm” mainly “projects” estimates that are often wrong. I have never found ZIPS very useful as a fan. Are there any articles out there that have retrospectively studied the accuracy of these predictions?
