Ok, time to get some baserunners!
-
You're right, I miss read. Was 10th game he pitched.
-
Just looked up GRods stats vs Texas this season. Last time he faced them, was May 10. 3.1 in innings 6 hits, 9 runs, 3hrs and 3 walks. Obviously that was a different time for him during the season but still is worrisome.

Yeah, I'm kind of surprised. I'd have Means going game 2 the very least.

More Angelos as the fly in the ointment content
Justinlstn replied to Yardball85's topic in Orioles Talk
I think he can't help himself and has to have the focus be on him. It's as if he's fighting his players for the spotlight. Every time you think things are going well he has to throw some of his thoughts out for news to gobble up. -
It's weird. Everywhere you read this year people are pulling for the Orioles, why do something dumb like this over a small thing. Wasn't even a bad comment. JA has done a good job staying out of the light this season and have the focus on the team and not his family which was big focus in the off season. Well that's now screwed.

I worry the latest run our team will affect our draft strategy and focus more on someone closer to helping the club sooner rather then what's best for long term. I would be excited if we went Jones and will be fine if we take Jackson Holiday. I would be least excited if we took Temarr Johnson. If you're taking a second baseman they might as well take Jace Jung who is closer to being ready and hit well at a higher level. Don't want us to take him either at 1. Lee isn't worth going at 1 either.

I am just now seeing this, and having read most of the pages to this thread. I understand its one side but based on the history of dealing with this family as owner I can't help but to see it as likely. Just pure disappointment. To think, this team could have been sold 2 years ago. I understand a new owner may not be better but I truly find it hard for one to be worse.

Getting my hopes up that this reign may come to end.

Reminds me of little league jerseys with giant sponsor advertisement on it.

I took my son last year to the last game at Orioles stadium and our experience was exactly the same. Unfortunately then you couldn't bring in your own food/drink because of Covid and if you wanted anything to eat/drink you had to get it there. I was reading an article how the prices at Camden yards increased by 30% from 2019 to 2021. From what I read we are def not one of the cheapest for food and beverage. Sources for prices below: Can't remember if links are allowed, will remove if not. https://blog.cheapism.com/mlb-hot-dog-beer-prices/#slide=2 https://www.webstaurantstore.com/blog/628/beer-hot-dog-and-ticket-prices-at-major-league-baseball-parks.html

The Final Straw? Elias to Trade Mancini
Justinlstn replied to NelsonCruuuuuz's topic in Orioles Talk
I rather move him to give him a chance at playing on a contender. After he's been through he deserves a chance because I don't see him getting there with the Orioles. He's 30 now, this is when most hitters decline. He's a good player, but probably has maybe 4 or 5 years left. -

Website said first attempt didnt go through and I hit it again I had multiples. -
Great news, especially with how expensive everything is in the stadium. I get it, everything is more expensive now but they definitely padded on. I didn't understand how you couldn't bring a sealed water bottle in because of Covid. Yet you didn't have to wear masks in the stadium.

What is Elias' plan to contend and what should it be?
Justinlstn replied to LookinUp's topic in Orioles Talk
It's hard to lump 1998 all the way to 2011. That's last year of Pat Gillick, one Frank Wren, Syd Thrift and his confederate money, Flanagan and co, then Andy McPhail. 14 losing seasons yes, but the later part of those years we had an actual direction that we didn't have before. -
Looking at the list, it's not even worth debating. It looks to be a complete popularity contest with ignoring steroid enhancement except I do not see Sosa or Palmerio yet you have Manny Ramirez at 68. Btw Palmer was 85.

I completely get it and I agree with listening to offers but man that would sting to lose Mullins.

It's hard because I haven't seen a clear cut favorite yet. Dru Jones (Andruw Jones son) is a possibility, I personally like Jace Jung (Josh Jung brother). Good college bat for the infield. It will be fun to speculate until next year.
