Speculating on how the O's handle the pitching logjam
Explosivo replied to interloper's topic in Orioles Talk
Palmer said so on the broadcast bud. You can tell by the reactions from Hyde and the trainer. They trusted him when he said he was good. Body language is important. Up to you to read the tea leaves or hide your head in the sand. Kimbrel cost us two games because of his pride and that comes before the fall. -

Because everyone could tell he was ailing. Palmer saw it, Hyde saw it, the head trainer saw it. He said he was good, he clearly wasn’t. -

Not necessarily. Kimbrel breaks down at the end of the year. This way, hide him on the 60 day. Get him for down the stretch. It could still work out but Kimbrel was not honest with being hurt and it cost us two games against the damn A’s. I’d be pissed if I were Hyde. -

Cano is allergic to the 9th. Suarez moves to closer role when he’s rested. Until then it’s by committee, Kimbrel, who is on my shit list for putting himself above the team by hiding his injury, on the IL and Bradish comes up to take Suarez’s spot. Suarez can dial it up to 98 in short spurts and above all, he throws strikes. -
This team will make another early exit from the playoffs

It’s a culture problem with our fans sadly. I’m not sure its origin but it is systemic and especially noticeable on Twitter. I get that you could make the same claim about all sports teams but with ours…they are quite vocal. It’s unfortunate, but I’m getting better at tuning them out. -
I should preface, this early in his career. He’s just following the standard Oriole rookie model of struggle upon first call up then come back later and crush it.
-
He would never be traded.

Well I mean they are already two deep at second with Westy and Mateo and Urias as well. Id rather see what Mateo and Urias give you which, at this point, is going to be significantly more than Jackson and you get to retain the extra year of service time. That type of depth also means you don’t need Norby there either. McKenna gives us the outfield defensive replacement and speed off the bench along with Mateo. Perhaps with Norby, they don’t want to bring him up, have him struggle and possible worsen his potential trade value. Projections may be better than actualization as we are seeing play out with Hall and Ortiz.

I saw Heston play in Houston (say that three times fast) and that guy hit a homerun that looked like he barely swung at all and yet it powered over the right field wall. Heston is incredibly strong, big, and has great plate discipline. Santander is great because he’s a switch hitter, but if Heston can hit lefties, they really are very similar players. Here’s hoping his defense has improved because he’s the heir apparent in right.

Let’s tap the brakes on his move to the bullpen. His stuff plays and he can get outs. Best of all, he doesn’t walk anyone. He challenges hitters and gets weak contact. With our defense, I’d rather him give up the occasional double or flared hit to the outfield than to see walks. Keep him in the starting rotation until he proves he doesn’t belong. Wells and Irvin both have experience in the pen and frankly for Irvin, though I love him, has a real tough time throwing strikes at times. anyway, let’s see what the old dog can do.

I agree, his last start was, what, like 6 or 7 years ago for the Giants? This is a huge moment for him. I like Wells too, but if he’s not healthy and with Means and Bradish waiting, Suarez might be a solid addition until folks get healthy. This is his opportunity to make the club for the year or be sent around the league, mired in the minors. im praying for his success. I think he can do it. He knows he has to do it. Go kick some ass Suarez!

We need at least 3 decent innings from our starter today

Agreed, I’d prefer it was Suarez and maybe that’s why banuelos was up, to open a spot on the 40 to get Albert his shot. We all know Zimmerman is just…not as good, and Hyde wants to win so Suarez should be the guy. but it’ll probably be Zimmerman. Sadly. I mean, at least with Suarez there’s some upside. He may be good. Little upside with Zimmerman. -
Agreed. I thought it was just really funny. I like their dynamic, it makes it so much more fun that they are polar opposites and rib each other. Plus, Kevin Brown is hilarious!

I'm not proud, but not embarrassed either...I just found out...

Or rather luckily for us, your problem is also our problem. -

It’s simply software that encrypts these devices. If there’s a will, there’s a way. That being said, it would have to be done for each team and each game unless the encryption per team does not change. I highly doubt that. It’d be interesting to see the software and consult with forensics professionals to see if there’s a potential problem with these devices. I wonder if pitchcom has taken that action or if MLB through their vetting process has done that as well.

Heh I understand, there’s probably nothing there. The signals would be encrypted

Well in the Sanchez homer, there was a runner on second. Hm.
