Albert Suarez named 2024 World Series MVP. 2 GS, 2-0, 12.2 IP, 1 ER, 11 Ks, 2 BB
-
Fun fact, they also have exactly the same BB9: 5.1

I like Eflin.

Offer Anthony Santander 3 year 60 million contract
TommyPickles replied to LockUpTheGunner's topic in Orioles Talk
Fielding Bible rated Santander as an above average defensive first baseman in 71 innings there last season... I didn't want to resign him before this season started, now I think they should at least try. Let's say the O's lose in the WS this year. Its hard to imagine the offense not taking a step back in 2025 without him. Might have to slightly overpay (don't go crazy) to strike while the iron is hot. -
Meanwhile in Miami, Kyle Stowers is 0-7 with 6 Ks as a Marlin. Yikes.

I want to say this about Coby Mayo (All Inclusive)

I don't get why Urias has so many haters on here. -
I want to say this about Coby Mayo (All Inclusive)

Ramon Urias in July: 54 PA, .341 avg, .463 OBP, .477 SLG, .940 OPS On the season he has a 105 OPS+. To compare that to someone who plays in a hitter's park, that's the same as Yankees' 1B Ben Rice, who is batting .300 and has a .746 OPS. -
Since the start of 2023: Eflin: 3.72 ERA, 3.25 FIP, 108 ERA+ Grayson: 4.11 ERA, 3.75 FIP, 96 ERA+ I'm excited about this move. And we have him for next year.
-
I know it's not splashy, but I wouldn't mind Kikuchi. 2024 FIP: Kikuchi- 3.60 Kremer- 5.08 Plus, I really want a lefty in this rotation. Tyler Anderson seems more risky. Then spend a bit more on the bullpen.

The Elephant in the Room - The Red Sox
TommyPickles replied to sportsfan8703's topic in Orioles Talk
The Red Sox have had an impressive season and I'm not hating on them. But the O's are 5-1 against Boston this year. I could see Boston sneaking into the playoffs, but I could also see them just missing out. I'd also be fine playing them in the first round. -
How important is this Yankees series, really?
TommyPickles replied to Frobby's topic in Orioles Talk
Last night's game was the most fun I've had watching all season. Real playoff atmosphere. -
I'm excited to watch Povich pitch again. Feel like he had some tough luck yesterday... Only 2 hard-hit balls over 100 pitches is promising.
-
Brach is boring and his voice is too monotonous

I'm always here to defend Urias' spot. rWAR since the start of 2021: Urias- 8.2 Hays- 6.5 Mountcastle- 6.2 Mateo- 6.1

I'd love to see the O's resign Jorge Lopez

Don’t Look now but Kansas City is pretty good.

Same here. Exciting young team and Salvy is having a career year at 34. -
Mateo and Gunnar turned a show stopping double play yesterday. Love the finnese and confidence from them both.

Is it time to upgrade over Urias and McCann?
TommyPickles replied to Greg Pappas's topic in Orioles Talk
Kinda how I feel about pronouncing Urias (who has been worth more WAR than Hays or Mountcastle since 2021) a failure after 56 ABs... -
We're 27-14 and our team OPS is up from this point last year? I'm not too worried.
-
Assuming we get today's game in, who pitches Sunday? (Curious because I'm going)
-
I trust Hays to play some CF. Since 2020, he's been worth +2 DRS as a centerfielder in 274.2 innings at the position. In that time, Mullins has been worth +15 DRS as a centerfielder in 4,044.1 innings. I'm not saying he's a better defender than Mullins. I also know there are a lot of different and imperfect stats when it comes to defense. But I think it's promising that he's averaging +1 DRS every 137 innings as a CF, considering Mullins is averaging +1 DRS every 270. I also think Mullins will heat back up.

Cole "Cy Young" Irvin is pitching? We've got a good chance!
