At this point I think Zimm needs to head to the bullpen. Give the kid a break.

He’s still very young. I’ll give it more time before fully casting off the lofty hopes many of us had for him just a month and a half ago. Is another Mountcastle a more likely (and still good!) outcome? Most likely, but I’m still dreaming on more. Also he has a cannon for an arm so he will be able to play the outfield.

Then he certainly won’t last to 33. All pitchers are ticking time bombs. Unless the mri shows that he’s more at risk than most for a career ending/altering injury (like shoulder calcification,) I’d be more than Ok taking a flyer at 33 if he were to get there. Though with Boras as his agent, whoever takes him with have to pay handsomely. Which could also lead to him still being there at 33.
