  1. I’ve definitely seen “flexor strain” or even “elbow fatigue” lead to a TJ. Hope I’m wrong, but I have a bad feeling.
  2. Does Hyde start to get some Manager of the Year buzz soon?
  3. No settlement. He’ll earn his full salary selling ‘K’ shaped pretzels for the next 60 years. But no, I think the writing’s all over the wall and they’ll figure something out
  4. Had the same thought this morning. I think a minor league contraction is a near certainty at this point. Very sad because I think as some have said, the minor leagues groom lifelong baseball fans in rural areas. And there is nothing like going to a minor league games. It’s far more pure than a major league experience, for me. I want to start a ‘save the minor leagues’ petition. Who’s signing?
  5. Me too. And as a first-time manager, I also have hope he learns from his strategic mistakes and grows in that area as well.
  6. There’s a lot of positive energy around the team right now. I think we should give some credit to Hyde here too. I may have underestimated him.
  7. Does he come back out? I tend to think we go to the pen now. End on a K.
  8. Just watched. He’s very exciting, covers so much ground. That catch rivals Delino Deshields Jr. from earlier this week
  9. Bo Jackson combined with Ken Griffey. He’s a video game player
  10. Nothing soft when you have DJ Stewart in the lineup
  11. Kremer looks pretty good so far. Fastball is finding a lot a plate though. But he broke off a few really nice curves nice clean delivery too. 94-95 mph.
  12. I think it’s just action via inaction. I agree they are not sabotaging individual games.
  13. True. And no we don’t know for sure that tanking was the plan, but it certainly seems it was closer to the plan than contending for a playoff spot, wouldn’t you agree? Our biggest off season addition signing was Jose Iglesias.
  14. I hear ya. I definitely do think his plan andexpectation, much like all of ours based on the roster we fielded on opening day, was to have around a .300 winning percentage. I imagine he waited as long as he did to see if we would come back down to earth as it were. We have not and so here we are. Also another thing to remember is that were this a regular length season, this would be pretty early for a lot of these guys to be making their debuts.
  15. Better late than never. It’s awesome that these young guys are getting a taste of a playoff race of sorts. Props to Elias for deviating from his plan to tank to get them this invaluable experience. I have no issue with how long he’s waited (which actually isn’t even that long at all.)
  16. Similar to what others have said, these guys remind a bit of an Oakland A’s team from the last 5 or 6 years or so. They have some talent but it always seems to be kind of piecemeal and none of it was super highly regarded coming through the minors (aside from Luzardo.) I would love if we had those kinds of teams for the next 5 years or so (hopefully much longer) where the sum is always greater than the parts. The quintessential small market ingredient for success.
