  1. One of the biggest questions when the roster came out was how Hall and Greiner would be used. With Hall at 2nd in the first game, he could be moved there or they could alternate. It will be worth keeping an eye on, especially if Hall has the hot bat.
  2. One of those plays was the Danny Jansen "stumble out of the box" play. Ruiz seemed to think that gave him more time and he gloved it instead of bare handed it. I didn't see the error at the start, but maybe he took a little extra time to get the throw on target the rest of the game and that is what cost him?
  3. I don't think any Orioles starter had 6, no hit innings last year either.
  4. Whoever it was, it was dangerous when he slid spikes up and Rickard was diving in face first. Luckily, Rickard slid on the outside and avoided a face full of cleat.
  5. No problem. I'll try not to injure myself celebrating again.
  6. I won't be. Unless I can clone myself... The most underrated trend of every season!
  7. Means hung in there very well. These are the types of bullpen appearances they need this season. I think he was left in too long, as he was using a lot of pitches to get outs and ended up hanging a change up that had been spotted and super effective up to that point.
  8. Clearly only 2nd round material now.
  9. Sucre had a passed ball along with that weird pop up double play. Not his best game, given his reputation as a good defender.
  10. He was replaced by Preston Palmiero in the 5th.
  11. Wilkerson > Jackson? Probably not. Wilkerson > Hanser Alberto? Yes.
  12. "The rules of the DL will remain the same. The list has gone through different incarnations since its institution in 1966 and today includes a 10-day version for short-term injuries and a 60-day version for more severe ailments."
  13. Injured List, then more roster shuffling.
  14. I know he isn't ready yet, hence why I said "if he is healthy." Yesterday was Sucre's deadline. This seemed like a "claim him just because" move, which seems stupid to do. Severino does not make any part of this roster better.
  15. I hate this move on so many levels. First, the catching situation: - They claim someone with no options who is good at defense, but doesn't hit. Why? - if Sisco goes to Norfolk, you now have 2 catchers with good defense and no offense. - If you carry all 3, you screw your bench over. - If Wynns is healthy, play him and Sisco. You need to see what you have. - You make this move after telling Sucre not to opt out yesterday. Good job.... - Severino comes in with only a few days to go and to learn the pitchers. The same situation they threw Sucre into and gave him time in the Minor League camp, simulated games, bullpen sessions, ect to learn in 2 weeks. Now, for the DFA: - What compromising pictures does Hanser Alberto have to stay on the team? Cut him already. Go with the younger guy you can work on. This move is puzzling and leads to a lot of questions.
  16. So when do the Orioles extend his contract then to avoid free agency?
  17. Yeah, that does tend to hurt a bit. Just not a good inning at all, all around. I think Sucre's opt out just got thrown out the window with Perez's play.
  18. Fixed it for you. Martin couldn't handle a ball hit by Tavares and couldn't turn the double play later and Carlos Perez is doing awful behind the plate with 2 passed balls, a wild throw, and couldn't corral a 3rd strike.
  19. I haven't seen him or Wright say anything, it was just speculation that was out there since they took stuff during surgery recovery.
  20. The addition of Luke to the staff has been the best thing, without a doubt. Very knowledgeable, very humble. I like being able to talk Orioles with people who are (mostly) knowledgeable and give updates on players in the minors when I go to the games. I also like that @Tony-OH has given me some chances to do some stuff for the site. Some have worked (reporting on Minor League games and giving information about players I see in person) while others haven't (supposed to do a series of interviews last year and none of them ended up happening because 2018 was against me...) I greatly appreciate the opportunities he has provided and the conversations on the board.
