  1. Two of the times I’ve seen it this season (in the last month-ish), it was on an inside pitch and the batter swung down at it at the last second, like he was chopping. Ended up getting the catchers mitt. I wonder if this is being taught now.
  2. In the last few seasons, they have sent: Nick Vespi, Alex Wells, Dean Kremer, Keegan Akin, and Tanner Scott.
  3. He could go as a “Taxi Squad” player, who only plays Sunday and Wednesday. Think they sent catcher Ramon Rodriguez last year to do the same thing. Grayson could go and have Orioles coaches there.
  4. Also just thought about Kjerstad.
  5. Let me help… Anyway, I don’t think those 4 make it. Rarely do you see two AAA guys like that. Either Roberts or Handley will probably go, as the Orioles “usually” send a catcher almost every year. Norby seems like a good choice. Coby Mayo could go. Ortiz is an option, or even Cesar Prieto, then maybe someone like Hudson Haskin. Pitchers are tough, because the Orioles seem to be imposing an innings limit. Grayson could be a good choice, to see how he does against top players. Maybe Chayce McDermott. Then throw in a lower level guy.
  6. More of a “Tracking ex Orioles farmhands” post, but…
  7. I don’t see him jumping from AA to the MLB. He will atleast get half a season in Norfolk next year and might be up halfway through the year, but no chance does he start off in Baltimore.
  8. Of course, more goes into that. Is Chirinos working with the TOR guys, or does he get the “Shuttle Squad” treatment?
  9. They optioned two people. Wouldn’t that be… Max Headroom?
  10. He’s in San Francisco and was splitting time with Casali, but now backing up Bart who is on a hot streak. Seems to be their ace’s personal catcher. Handley probably won’t be the main backup, but could be up later in 2023. If they want a “stop gap,” then there are plenty of options. If they want to truly split with Adley, they can shell out some cash.
  11. What, you were expecting someone else?
  12. Two for one: Giants released Drew Jackson and Cody Carroll today. Both were in their AAA system.
  13. Left tonight's game after taking a foul ball to the head while behind the dish.
  14. Remember, Roch and a few others got trolled recently on Twitter by someone pretending to be the Orioles, posting one of their “transaction” pictures with Odor DFA’ed, Gunnar up, and I think something else.
  15. Pitcher Carson King, in Delmarva, has retired.
  16. This screams “Sources: Trust me, bro.”
  17. Another shorter outing, going 4 innings with 3 hits, 1 run (tough play for 3rd baseman who deflected it), 0 walks and 3 k's. Only 50 pitches.
  18. Moved up when Diaz got brought up as the 27th man. Lets see if Hall or Cullen goes back to Bowie when Diaz is returned.
  19. There you go @justD, an Alex Wells update!
  20. I think it will be a combination. Last year was weird as a lot of prospects were dealing with injuries late in the year and pitchers were on a tight pitch count due to 2020. It also depends how the roster breakdown goes. Orioles almost always seem to be incharge of sending a catcher, infielder, outfielder, and 3 pitchers, but that might change.
  21. I’ve wanted to go for a while, but never did due to life situations. I am interested in hitting up the AFL Fall Stars Derby and game this year though since it’s on a weekend.
  22. A friend of mine started the rumor that this thread would be locked within 48 hours.
  23. Pretty sure Stewart was given a lot of chances…
